I want to get a Remington 870 Express Super Magnum for shooting and hunting. I will be hunting deer and turkey and quail and everything else I can. What are your thoughts on this gun? Also does anyone know where I can buy some accessories. I would like to buy an extension so I could hold 8 shells and maybe buy a better barrel and maybe a scope. Thanks everyone

The Remington 870 is a solid proven shotgun. It is one of the most popular shotguns in law enforcements.
About the only thing I can think of that I didn't like about it was the location of the safety and the chamber unlock. They are not in a very "natural" position. By "natural" I mean you have to change the grip of your firing hand dramatically to actuate either one. Although the safety on a shotgun is pretty much useless as all it does is stop the trigger from actuating. The firing pin is free to move. It is capable of firing when dropped.
As far as aftermarket parts for the 870, they should be very easy to find since it is such a popular shotgun.
Wison Combat does a bang up job. But you can also get less expensive add ons from atigunstocks.com.

I have a remington 870... It is usally all I hunt with. Most kills for deer come in under 100 yards so the 870 can take care of that. WIth a quick barrel swap I can shoot trap. That's what I loved about that gun.

Check out gunbroker.com for your accessories. Plenty of toys out there.

great gun. you can shoot any load through this gun.

if you get an extension tube, make sure to check the local hunting regulations for plug regulations. i can't remember if quail is regulated by federal migratory bird regulations. you might have to plug your gun. do you really need 8 shots without reloading anyway.
