It is possible and is probably about a 25% likelihood. The gene for blue eyes is recessive (weaker) than the gene for brown eyes. We have two genes for each trait (one from Mom and one from Dad). Your Mom and Dad each have a pair of genes that have one brown gene and one blue gene. The brown gene is dominant (stronger) so they have brown eyes but they both passed a blue gene on to your sister. If your sister is a baby, she may yet get brown eyes. Babies are frequently born with blue eyes and the eyes change later (sometime between 12-18mos). Hair color is even more variable and complex. Isn't mother nature wonderful, such variety and beauty!

a number of of those anybody is answering the incorrect question. Blue eyes are recessive. green are dominant, yet basically against blue... Brown is the main dominant. As such, a brown eyed individual and a green eyed individual could have a blue eyed toddler, if their recessive gene is blue for the two one in all them. Or they could have a brown eyed toddler, or probably, the brown and green could blend and on a similar time as the eyes are BROWN, there is a few green in them as properly that provide them a undeniable forged in diff lights that cause them to seem to no longer be brown. merely like a green eyed individual and blue eyed individual could have a green eyed toddler or a blue eyed toddler, based upon recessive genes. Or the blue and green ought to blend to characteristic specks of colour that make the eyes seem to alter hue, while- surely- they do no longer. even with the undeniable fact that!!! A blue eyed individual is inevitably a double service of the blue eyed gene, and green eyed human beings the two have green/blue or green/green. there is no brown interior the blend. As such, a blue eyed individual and a green eyed individual can't have a brown eyed toddler. interior the form of alleged alleles... it quite is approximately broken genetics... very almost like albinism... no longer precisely, yet comparable. the comparable broken code form ingredient. a loss of pigment or finished pigment... so contained on the topic of finished and utter genetic failures (and those could be so uncommon as to intend you elect a paternity try no count what)... the only real thank you to have a brown eyed toddler from 2 lighter eyed mom and dad, is that if the two mom and dad have BLUE eyes and the reason they the two have blue eyes is using a broken gene that does no longer enable for them to have the pigment that ordinary genetics meant them to have. that's complicated, yet... no... Blue eyes and green eyes do no longer begat brown eyes!

brown is a dominant gene, blue is recessive. In order to get blue, you have to put 2 recessive genes together. Both of your parents have one brown gene, one blue gene, since the brown is dominant, that is what shows. Your sister happened to get one recessive gene from each parent, therefore blue. There is a blue eyed person somewhere on both your maternal and fraternal family tree.

your parents probably gave one blue gene each to your sister. you and your other siblings have brown eyes because brown is dominant over blue. so your parents have 'Bb' and you and your siblings have either 'BB' [both dominant brown] or 'Bb' brown and blue but brown is dominant] while your sister got 'bb' [blue]
