Why are the Jews and Muslims fighting over a few miles of sand?

I know it has something to do with religion because I know that neither the Jews nor the Muslims are that stupid to kill and fight over a bunch of sand.And I know that the Jews are sophisticated and the Muslims are very unified..So they each have their specialty in something.But why fight over some land made up of over 80% sand?Israel is to small to fight over and so let the Israelis Jews have it.The Muslims of the Middle East have pretty much all the rest of the lands around Israel.So what the heck are they fighting over?Who has better sand?

It's not a religion, it's politics. Israel expects to live in peace while it doesn't let others live in peace. They kill, injure unarmed civilans, destroy homes, treats them like slaves, expand settlements, have up to 10,000 prisoners in their jails among them women and children for years without charges, and no one knows their fate.

Just last month one soldier was kidnapped, and Israel responded with killed over a 100 palestinians. It's difficult to co-exist peacefully when Israel uses force first, then negotiates. Especially when it uses group punishment. Israel is never held for it's reckless actions, nor can the international community do anything because America is there to defend it. Now some Arabs feel helpless and gave up fighting back, but others chose to resist Israel. That's where the fighting occurs.

Jerusalem is sacred to all three religions. However Jews were there first. They had kingdoms there. And even before there were Jews, Canaanites(Jewish ancestors) lived in this region. Jews were the result of mixing between Canaanites and other groups from Egypt.

Good sand is very hard to find these days. Actually the place is considered very hold to them and according to both faiths the land was promised to them by God Himself, so they will do whatever is neccessary to obtain what they feel is rightfully theirs.

a few miles of sand is actually a lot compared to
my neighbor who fought me for a few millimeter. we hav 4 doorbells in a cluster at my apt buildin,but ppl often ring
the wrong one so i put a tiny piece of paper with my# on it
taped over my bell.the nex day it was removd, turnd out she didn
like my paper bein a few millimeter over her bell.
most humans are just such horrible horrible egotists, i dont
know if the world has much of a future. i believ maybe
a few million of us coud move
on to the nex level of evolution, but the rest,,,,,,,??
