its not pure economics, it is a biased process, and i understand by reading many of the arguments people here post, you can easily find the traces of racism, and indifference to what America has really fought for in the past. RACISM, RACISM.
laws change all the time, Jim Crow laws, etc, where supposed to serve a certain purpose at one point, but then clear minded folk saw plain and clear, that they were not constitutional, and were just plain old racist.

Sorry to disappoint you, but you are dead wrong, you pompous ***. I do not appreciate being called a xenophobic racist just because you do not believe Americans of any descent can be oppose to people of any nationality , race or creed entering this country in violation of our laws. I may not be of latin ancestry, but I am of Serbian, German, Irish stock and most of that at the turn of the last century. And, every damn one of them came here in accordance with the laws of the time. And if you think that my opinion is poo-poo because the ancestry I just quoted is European and white-skinned, then I submit you are the true racist. No one in the anti- illegal camp says Mexican or latin WE SAY ILLEGAL. And WE don't care WHERE the illegals come from or look like or what religion they practice. Actually for me, it is their illegal status. My wife is Peruvian and is legal. She cannot understand why the illegals are here. We have been through the whole process to get her green card. It is a tough process but we did it. Why can't the illegals do the same? I know it cost money but in the end they would not have to live in fear of being caught. If they come here legally, I will welcome them with open arms, regardless of their skin color. My wife is a little dark similar to what you might see of an Andean native. Oh by the way, there is racism in Peru between light skin Peruvians and dark skin Peruvians. With the exception of the Native Americans (The Quechua), they all speak the same language and there is still racism between the 2 skin colors. So do not use language as part of your answer.

Addition:
I just had a talk with my wife after answering this the first time. She just reminded me that a Russian man, that we both knew, was in this country illegaly. So, do not use the race card and think that all illegals are from south of the border. Wake up!

The issue is not nor ever has been an issue pertaining to skin color. As a person of Mexican heritage I can clearly state that. The issue is social security, taxes, and all of the other free services illegals are getting. I pay my taxes, and all of my bills. In this country it is bad enough that my money is paying for lazy citizens who do not want to work, but paying for someone who isn't even a citizen is outrageous. I don't care what color you are pay taxes. I don't care if you are Mexican or Russian. Come to this country legally, even if you are not a citizen you can acquire visa's, wait that means paying taxes again. By the way this is the USA if you love Mexico leave, if you love any country other than this one LEAVE! Speak English if you live here it is after all the language of this country. The reason Mexicans are so put forth in this debate is simple. There are so many of them you cannot help but notice. And before you tell people to learn before they speak, learn before you type. To be taken seriously one must be able to adequately create a proper sentence.

You don't speak for me, creep. I have no problem with anyone who comes into the country legally. I live in probably the most diverse city in the US, Washington, DC. All are welcome but why should Mexicans have priority over others patiently waiting their turn? Follow the rules and you will earn respect.

I'm a first generation American, by the way. My parents waited years to enter this country legally. They had to have a clean bill of health, no criminal record, speak passable English and have a place to live and a job waiting for them. Is that too much to ask?
