I have a yoga studio, and have had interest in classes for larger women. I need to know a good way to advertise and Market, without sounding offensive and making people feel uncomfortable. Any ideas on wording?

There's this instructor named Meera Patricia Kerr who specializes in yoga for plus size students (she herself is a plus size yogini). You can check out her website and see how she describes "Big Yoga", as she calls it.

There are also media clips and articles that might be worth reading. I'm sure they'll be very helpful.

Namaste!

Yes I've heard of this. I can't find it on the internet right now but there is a yoga studio in Berkeley CA that offers yoga for large women classes. I found a similar one, link below. Or you could say women of size, that sounds very respectful. I think it depends on the place where you live how you advertise it. Look at yoga for seniors for ideas of language to use to let people know that it will be something they can do within their mobility limits.

well first, if you want to advertise, if you have a city channel, you can put an advertisement on there for a really low price. the way to attract customers is with promotions. you offer them something like a free class and then if they like it, they will keep going to the class for a regular price. for the wording, you could say that being a little overweight makes you unique in your own way. yoga is an exercise that exercises your brain and makes you think of peaceful things. it will take your mind off of your pain. hope that helps

Here are some ideas:

Yoga for the Corpulent Woman
Yoga for the Heavyset Woman
Yoga for the Rotund Woman

Just look up synonyms for obese and choose one to your liking. Then insert it into the following sentence.

Yoga for the _____ Woman.

That should be the least offensive way to put it.

Good Luck! =D
