There are quite a few books of relatively large size answering that question and defending their position. You want me to do it on Yahoo Answers in 500 words? Taking a walk to the library or a book store is your best bet.

"Intelligent" design is just creationism in a cheap tuxedo. People who buy into this stupid idea refuse to read any books or look at any legitimate science websites to learn more about evolution, which has been confirmed in archeology, paleontology, biology, geology, and many other branches of science. This information is as close as Google, for anyone who is not too lazy to go there and look it up.

Creationism does nothing to further anyone's education. It does not make a person more intelligent, and will not advance the human race in any way. It encourages people to be satisfied with "God did it" as the reason for everything that happens. The less people understand, the more things they will find to attribute to the workings of God. Once upon a time, lightning, thunder, earthquakes and other natural events were incomprehensible, therefore "God did it." We have solved those little riddles and are now trying to understand the workings of the sub-atomic world, and whenever scientists find something that they don't yet understand, Christians jump all over it and squawk, "God did it! God did it!" like a damn parrot. They need to get some education, not mindlessly repeat everything their child-molesting preachers tell them.

You idiot. If it was proven, it would be the Law of Intelligent Design. Much like if Evolution was proven, it would be the Law of Evolution. The idea behind the Theory of Intelligent Design, is that the universe, especially as pertains to life, is too complicated to have happened by accident. There is too much order that's arisen out of chaos. The theory needs further experimentation before it can be proven or discarded. Any ideas? Perhaps you could create a new system of life? That would certainly disprove Intelligent Design.

Intelligent Design is not a theory! We have thousands of years in books, ancient writtings, that have worked for us , and what the theory of evolution, this is a theory! An Englishman goes to the caribbean island , observes turtles and comes up with the ridicuolous theory of we came from the monkeys! Bananas! How old is Darwins theory? Monkeys are still monkeys but we have the ESSENCE of our Creator IN US, is what makes us differnt from the animals. You better believe it . everything was created , we ,humans have turn it about for our use. Can we create stars, planets, the beauty of our Earth? What man can do is ADJUST created things for his use, but all has always been here! Look inside yourself ,what do you see? We are luminous being , space travellers created in the image of GOD!

Intelligent design basically states that a higher force created you (intellectually challenged) and the universe you live in.

Being that you are at least smart enough to realize that you did NOT create yourself and the universe you live in, it is pretty easy to come to the conclusion that a higher 'intelligent force' did.

If you came across a computer on a desk, do you not automatically assume there was an intelligent designer? How much more complex is the Universe and it's inhabitants?

It is the fairy tale belief that god suddenly popped into existence and crapped us out of his finger.

You will get no other answer from a christian.

And guess what they even have a story to back it up with in their fairy tale book. And they believe it because thats what a 2000 year old book says.

You know that some of them even deny the proven clain that DNA can mutate over a given time?

Scientifically Prove to me that God did not create the universe

If you're in a museum, and you see a 400 year old painting hanging on a wall, you can safely assume there was a painter who created it even though you never saw him do it.

P.S. The Books of the compiled Bible go back over 3500 years, not 2000. It was 2000 years ago Christ was here.

Moses wrote Genesis. Please do your homework before spouting off

I'll explain the theory, if you can explain to me how science thinks it has the answer but hasn't performed the one and only test that proves intelligent design.

i'm not effective that that's mandatory to require that the clothier be more effective complicated than something he / she / it designed. that's not unreasonable to assume that there exist complexity-increasing methods yet that complexity can't upward push above a particular threshhold without the intervention of a clothier. i imagine it is form of Michael Behe's argument in "fringe of evolution." that hardly lets the identity crowd off the hook. in accordance to their own argument, the clothier is both sufficiently complicated to require a clothier or it isn't. both case is a difficulty, and so some distance as i'll inform they circumvent the question by technique of exclaiming, "nicely, the idea would not extremely say something about the id of the clothier."

"Scientifically Prove to me that God did not create the universe"

What a moron. You can't prove a negative. It is your assertion that god did it, so you must prove it.

Along your line of thinking... prove to me that Santa Claus didn't build the universe with only a little help from Superman instead of Santa Claus doing it all himself?
