The last time I was there there was just the 60s style bus terminal and the roundabout off the M1 - I know it's the home of the Open University too - people of MK7 help me please! I need originality!

P.S. It reminds me a bit of Washington (near Sunderland) with all the roundabouts and districts!
Thanks for reminding me about the concrete cows....

It amazing how many people take the mickey out of MK that have never actually been here.

It's got a thriving city centre, great if you have a car to get around.
The main shopping centre is over a mile long and has many of the same shops as Oxford St. but at a much lower price.

Roundabouts are cool because no-one ever slows down at them, so it's a kind of organised Russian Roulette. We have an IKEA too, with meatballs and the groovy swedish biscuits.

We have a massive footie stadium being built with a crap team that will never fill it. We have the Bowl, which rocks..!!
We've had Alice Cooper, Take That, Eminem, Oasis and old fat boy Robbie Williams (back again in Sept).

If you want parks, watersports, countryside, it's all here.
It's bloody marvellous.

The statistics show that the average homebuyer pays off their mortgage quicker in MK than anywhere else in the UK - so hardy har har to all those who scoff... !!

The only problem with MK right now is that womanising toad in government wants us to plant another billion homes here.

So just get down here on a Friday or Sat night and parrrttteeey.

I lived for a couple of years in M K (late 70s) when the Development Corperation was still in full swing. It is without doubt the strangest city/town that I have ever lived in,. The houses for the most part are a good architects nightmare, the road system seemed designed to help lose you.
The villages within the boundary though are beautiful and there seemed to be a lot of things to do and was near enough to London for a good night out. I have often wondered how the place has grown over the past 25 years. The only recent comment about where I lived was that it has become a very rough area.
Thanks for asking the question, going to mark this one for further viewing.

I do not live in MK but about 21 miles away. While I don't have any emotional attachment to the place, I do get sort of tired of people knocking it! It's extremely useful to have in the area and full of places to go and things to do. What IS the problem people seem to have with MK? I truly don't get it. Okay, it's not Oxford or the Cotswolds or Edinburgh but then it doesn't claim to be. It's a modern town with great facilities and I, for one, am glad to be able to access the place. Good for you MK!

Let me see, there's roundabouts, concrete cows, more roundabouts, the theatre district, yet more roundabouts, a massive shopping centre, some more roundabouts, the snow dome and, ooh let me think, a few more roundabouts.

I've never been there but the 60s was a time of experimentation in all fields, including towns and it is better than some 40s and 50s architecture was.

Some concrete cows and about five hundred roundabouts, but I hear that things are improving...

I get lost on the way in, get lost in the shopping centre and I get lost on the way out.
Built for the car and expensive parking.
