For the last 3 years I've been praying to God for a nice break in my struggle to sell copies of my book. I believe that God answers all prayers and don't believe in that common line: 'he didn't answer your request because he was looking out for you' because then that conflicts with his given gift of free-will. If he's not answering it just yet than I can only draw three possible conclusions. 1 He wants me to become so far downhearted that I'll lose the will to live, come home, regroup and reincarnate to a world where my book would be a chartbuster. 2 He rather us astral project our souls to his realm and find the answers then just sitting here in the earth realm waiting for Him to do a bunch of miracles. Unfortuently, I was bought up in a religion that frowns upon that stuff since it's not offically proven and may be demonic in nature. 3 He doesn't exists like we believe and that we are gods ourselves who create our worlds.

First off, WOW, dear God are you selfish.

God is not a prayer machine that just cranks out wishes. Period.

Lamentations 3:44 says that if He doesn't find your prayer pleasing it doesn't EVEN REACH HIM, but is blocked "by a cloud like mass." The ONLY way your prayer will reach God is to come "humbly, and in humility with an open face and asking for forgivness and forgiving THOSE who sinned against you." Otherwise, the prayer isn't acceptable. How can God act, when we haven't? IN fact, SOME PRAYER can be considered a sin, if it is for the wrong reason, such as King Saul's prayer, where he acted as if God was an old friend and owed him things, simply because he asked for it, and was King. (1 Saul). Unfortuantely, he paid for it with his life.

So, the only "technical" things proper to pray for is God's Kingdom, God's will to be done, your safety and your families, and also such things as your christian brothers, the safety of Christs bride (the Church), etc. None of this is personal.

I think people kind of go out on a limb with some of this belief that God answers all our prayers. For one thing, why would you pray for something like that? So you can make money? Do you think that God is interested in helping people make money? There is a huge flaw in that kind of thinking. Your belief system is somewhat flawed, and it sounds like you do not have a very strong faith. Once you have decided what you actually believe, it seems to me that you will be praying for something more spiritually valuable to yourself.

Have you read the story of Solomon in the Bible? The Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream. God said to him, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you." Solomon wished for a discerning heart so that he could rightly govern God's people and distinguish between right and wrong. Solomon could have wished for wealth, honor or long life, but instead, he wished for wisdom. Solomon put God first; asking for that which would enable him to serve God best. As a result, God gave the new king unrivaled riches and honor in addition to unparalleled wisdom.

God answers all prayers in His time. God knows the "big picture". Also it helps to be spiritualy ready to accept the answers He gives. Now, you have to ask, is your prayer out of greed for yourself. As for your miracles. If you don't consider the fact you can grow a mighty oak tree that will out live you, from a simply tiny acorn, then you're a mighty hard person to impress.

Work hard, pray hard, play hard...regroup and try writing something new. You did not say what your first book was about but,if you first don't succeed try, try again. Life is not easy. We can not understand everything. Trying will only make you crazy. You might look up The Prayer of Jabez. Good luck

theres a really good Garth Brooks song called unanswered prayers. It talks about how at the time, we might want something so bad, and we pray and pray about it, but in the long run it's not whats best for us. only God knows. So if you have enough faith, everything will work out for the best.

I think we have all asked this question at one time or another. Do you plan on using the resources that would be generated from your book sales to furthur the kingdom of our Lord? If not He can't Bless that. Also maybe the answer is NO. Or maybe He will provide but it is in His time not yours. Continue to pray and don't doubt. God Bless

Why isn't God answering my prayers?

How do you pray? Is it something like this.

Father in heaven, in the name of our lord Jesus, here me or Lord.
I desire xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
But not by my will Oh Lord but by yours.
Amen!

"Sometimes I thank God
For unanswered prayers
So just remember when you're talkin'
To the man upstairs
Just because he may not answer
Doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts
Are unanswered prayers"

-The Gospel According to Garth (Books)

Uh, I think whoever said it conflicts with free will needs to grow up.

God doesn't answer all of our prayers because He wants the best for us. Sometimes we ask for the best, sometimes we don't. He knows what is best for us and what isn't best for us. Then again, it all depends on your faith too.

I agree with some of the other people. God is answering your prayers, but it isn't the answer that you want to hear.
