It sounds like you are letting yourself get too hungry. Try eating a protein snack around 3/4 pm to control your hunger. The protein should fill you up more so you can make a healthier decision around dinner time.

Its natural for people to get hungry later in the evening. Its not very healthy, however, to go to bed with a full stomach. Here are some tips that helped me stop binging, maybe they can help you?

When you feel an eating binge coming on, try to get out of the room where the food is and try to get your mind on another thing. Try playing a word or numbers game - like Soduko. [They have tons of free Sudoko games online and they are addictive!]. You could also try watching a movie that you KNOW will keep your mind involved [this can be hard] or calling up a friend and chatting or even going out.

You can also drink a LARGE cup of ice water. This will fill your stomach up and try and help your body remember that it is not hungry.

If you are very, very disciplined, when you feel a binge coming on, try to have just a tiny, tiny bit of whatever it is you really want. For instance, if you want to eat an entire package of Oreos eat JUST ONE. Denying the urges can sometimes make the desire to binge happen less frequently, but it can also be very hard to stop eating once you have started.

Above all else, do NOT get down on yourself when you binge happens. Making yourself feel depressed or otherwise low can actually make you want to eat more. Remind yourself that you are a very important person and you do not need this food. If you feel like you don't care, remind yourself how special and unique you are. It sounds corny, but it can really help.

I really hope at least some of this helped. Good luck!

Sounds like you are a compulsive overeater.

Try and develop a structured eating plan. If you eat more throughout the day you won't binge at night. Drink lots of water too. Allow yourself to have your treats in moderation so you don't miss them or feel like you are punishingn yourself. Maybe see a dietician or nutritionist. Join a program like Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem where you can get support. Attend an OA meeting if you think its a major addiction that you may need help with.

many people call this "night-bingeing" syndrome. your mind feels deprived and ends up kicking into overdrive with the cravings. the best thing to do is avoid keeping binge foods available to you at home--clean out your cupboards!--and perhaps allow yourself something SLIGHTLY indulgant during the day. for example, there are granola bars available with chocolate chips in them that are 100 calories per bar. that way you're satisfying your chocolate craving before it gets out of control, but you don't have to feel guilty because it was a gronola bar, not a candy bar, and only 100 calories. give it a try :)

i found something that broke the craving cycle for me. i did a 9 day cleanse with a product called isagenix. it killed off the yeast in my body.yeast needs sugar to breed that is why cravings get out of control. i was a sugar/carb addict ;) but that other person is right if you are waiting 2 long to eat you will binge. but the cleanse has you doing something every 2 hours. it totally nutrition based so it is not bad for you. not only did i break the cycle of binging but i feel better, i am healthier and i lost 15 lbs. and 28.5 inches off my body(which i desperatly needed to lose) i was not hungry and like i said i felt better without all those toxins in my body as well. also WATER WATER WATER!!!!! cleans out your system and makes you feel full. isagenix made me a believer and i chose to sell it beacuse of my fantastic results.i hope you find something that works for you as well.

i know what you mean! im in a similar situation... i think it's in our minds. in my case, i work for long periods of hours everyday of the week (well, sundays off) and we're struggling financially and whenever i come home, food is the only thing that comforts me that's why i tend to eat. but at the same time, i feel bad because i've always wanted to lose weight... it's a war that goes on in my head. my sister suffers the same thing, trust me i know what you feel.

until now, i still don't find the willpower to push myself to work harder at weight loss. i think i will be able to once i finish school and get a decent job and have a better life -- then my stress will go down and will be easier to work on weight loss.

there are times when i've tried diets successfully, only failed it because i eat out with friends a lot (i guess that's where my money goes) but it helps when you plan what you're going to eat during the day and add variety to it. and always put in some allowance for snacks, what you can eat for snacsk. i've created a list of what i can eat every breakfast, every lunch, every snack, and every dinner. i just can't find time to exercise which is important.

hmm... in your case, plan this ahead and i want you to write down the foods that you like a lot -- whether it be good or bad... and allow your self like 2 or 3 times a week to eat those (if they're bad) in moderation as a "pat on the back" for being good. once you've lost significant amount of weight, try changing those "rewards" instead of eating those, try rewarding yourself with a nice wardrobe, a haircut or something -- i think the reason why we eat is that we feel bad. we need to spoil ourselves once in a while. accept the fact that you can never completely eliminate the foods that you life permanently. i tell myself that once i lose weight, i'd still eat healthily, but i don't want to deprive myself whenver there is a dinner out with friends or a family gathering -- i'll eat. i'll just go back to the normal routine the next day.

i hope this works for both of us.

i think dat you are taking dis diet u trying to do too seriously. listen to me: if you want to lose weight den da only thing dat really works is eating healthy and moving/exercising. don't mess up ur metabolism, because dat's what dieting will do and it be a woe for life. if u've not started, DON’T. if u have weight to lose, den eat healthily - no snacking on chips, ice cream. stock up on veggies/fruit...salad with dressing. cheese and croutons get u nowhere. eating packaged food is not good idea. eat sitting down, chew ur food completely and eat smaller portions and eat slowly. u'll find that throwing in some exercise - nothing intense, even a brisk walk for a half hour 5 days a week will start u losing weight. go to www.dietbites.com. it's for teenagers and is fun site!! also buy da book "Diet for Teenagers Only". Sounds dumb, yes but i used to be chunky myself and was always really self conscious. now I make really healthy decisions, feel better, have gained serious muscle definition because I lost a lot of fat, and look really great in a bikini. i recommend it to anyone/everyone. it was kind of what I was waiting for in a way. and has habits you can stick with for LIFE, not just some lame 4 week juice diet dat'll do nothing for you except ruin your metabolism. trust me on dis one!!!

Katie:
There is nothing wrong with you. Instead of starving yourself all day, which makes your body store fat. You should try eating 5 to 6 times a day. That way your bodies metobolism gets a jump start and your body is not saying I am starving myself and start storing fat to protect itself. I hope that this will help you out.

This worked for me. I was so impressed I became a distributor.
I've lost 6 lbs and I’ve only been taking it a month.
The girl who told me about it lost 19 in two months. It varies from person to person. i haven’t exercised or changed my eating.
