I paid £25 for my cats each to be micro chipped! Just book an appt with the vets. They can do it without anesthetic as it is just a small rice size object injected under the skin on the back of the neck! Some vets recommend that you get it done at the same time as neutering your cat when theyre knocked out so as they dont feel it. It will stay there for life and is a good idea in case your cat goes missing. Definately a peace of mind!

July is the animal chipping month, go to your vets and it should be a discount month, it costs around 15-20 pound, you vets does it by inserting a chip with a code on it into the back of the neck by injection but its more like an ear piercing gun, it doesn't hurt really but will be uncomfortable.

Micro-chipping costs around £15.

Your cat's vet will do it, RSPCA, Cats Protection and your local Pets At Home centre. I think pets at home's vetinary centre will do it. I know they do at Oldham.

If in UK, you can ring the council, go through to the Environment Services Section, they can arrange an appointment for FREE MICROCHIPPING FOR BOTH DOGS AND CATS!! Trust me, I used to work for them. I dealt with all this myself.
