If I want to speak Spanish, and listen to circus music, who am I hurting? As long as I have a college education, and a job that an illegal can't do. Hate NASCAR also.

I overheard something the other day. I was in a check-out line and the woman behind me was talking about how her parents moved from some other country to America and worked hard to learn the English language, even though it was radically different from their own, how they took pride in becoming Americans and becoming good at speaking English, even though they weren't well-educated and even though it was not their original culture.
But, for some people, you apparently included, it becomes a point of pride to rebel against the culture you are becoming immersed in. Incidentally, country music is not essentially American, but is more of the folk music of the American West, if you want to get technical. Rock is much more American, in my book, but I listen to a bit of everything. What, though, do you mean by circus music? It makes me think of that music that is piped in on the merry-go-round/carousel rides. Or are you talking about something like music played by Cirque du Soleil-- aren't they doing the Beatles now?
I think knowing the language in the country in which you reside is important, anyway. What if you have a problem and need help and can't get anyone to understand? I assume, though, that you know English and just prefer to speak Spanish as a "rebellious act". Rebellion is acted out against parents, in general, and I assume America isn't your parent country. More like the nice Auntie country you came to to get away from your parent country for some reason, and now you seem to be saying "I'm rebelling against you, too, Auntie-- and I'm going to be like my parents instead!" Sounds kind of silly that way, doesn't it? If this were a Parent-Aunt-Child situation, your Auntie would get mad and send you home to your parents. America isn't an Aunt, though, but a country founded on freedoms. You can like what you want and speak what you want and even hate what you want (within reason) without getting kicked out. You can even get a college education, even if you want to JOIN the circus and try to put NASCAR out of business by making an even greater Greatest Show on Earth. So do what you like, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone or break the law, but think about how you want to show pride for your country and/or countries (hey, you can always honor your parent country here) and you'll be happier (and less "sorry"-- your first word in your question) in the end!

LMAO...you put a hysterical picture in my head! Little doggy riding an elephant round and round in circles, making all the people laugh. Hey do they make circus music in Spanish? I'm trying to hear that in my head, it's got to be funny as hell too.

You are hurting your children. You are depriving them of their right to speak fluent English and as a result go on to be the first NASCAR driver to have a number one hit on the country charts,.

We'd be more like you BUT, I prefer my clothes to actually Fit rather than wearing my pants half way down my ***, and when I wear a hat I wear it straight rather than Sun blocking for my EAR. And I generally speak the language of the Country I am in.
