Honey, I think you are upset because you were being told the honest truth of what people think, it's just not what you wanted to hear. I grew up a single mom, it's incredibly hard, and yes, you do need a night out from time to time. It not only helps keep your sanity, but it gives you some adult time as well, and time to re-group, miss them a little, which sometimes helps you appreciate the kids more. It's okay to go out, just make sure that your kids are being well taken care of while doing so. And if you are guilt ridden, do something special with them during the day before you go out.

One thing you need to understand is there are millions of people from 19 different countries on here at any and all times of day and night. Every single one of these people are going to have their own thoughts and opinions regarding the questions that are posted here. Not everyone is going to be nice or understanding of a particular situation. They don't have to be. When I post a question I'm prepared for all kinds of responses. And yes, parents do need private time.

Treat this like fishing and just throw back the pish answers. Some of what you catch will help. I've had lots of abuse from humourless or overly religious people. I am actually a good guy and good fun and these people make judgements on a single line of text-very poor. Keep askin' and we'll keep answerin'!

Dont take it to heart, lots of people are having a bad day and take it out on the anonymous person on yahoo answers, they are obviously cowards, because they would get a slap in the face if they did it face to face.

Content yourself with the thought that you are better than them & they are probably societal misfits who get picked on by their bosses/wives/friends etc and have to let out the aggression somewhere

P.S go out have a good time and get them fish & chips before you go

You need a life too. Not all answers are favourable (and you do get idiots) but as long as your kids are properly cared for - what's the problem. A lot of answers might come from couples who don't understand your plight. As long as you enjoy yourself but put your kids first, then there's no problem.

That is life ! some time you also have to handle this kind of things.
Take it easy. Don't bother about this things. Enjoy the good things of life.
Certainly as a single mother you have life. Do enjoy it as much as possible.

Yes single parents need time away, but you choose to have those kids, so they must come first. It isn't any different for married parents.

yes, i think you should go out & have time for yourself. My parents are divorced. My dad is raising us. But sometimes I feel sorry for him because we're like his 24/7 duty. I'm happy when i spend weekends with my mom NOT ONLY because i can see her but because it's like his rest.
