Of course you can - Why on earth not. You will need a water supply (usually cold water with dishwashers), also an outlet pipe. You can purchase a plumbing kit that you can attach the outlet pipe to.

yes i stand next to the sink and wash the dishes. I find it is the best place to be!

Yeah, isn't that where they usually go? I have a built in one and I thought that they had to go there to get the water and to drain. But if you are in doubt, ask a home improvement store where the best place for your model to go is.

best place for it is near the sink that way you wont have to run longer hoses. next to sick or as close as possible.

a dishwasher MUST be plumbed to the soil stack in the UK. It cannot be drained to a normal storm drain...
