Of course! Why not? Unless you're going to be wife number 4, and then don't waste your time on a man who doesn't understand commitment and has a long-standing pattern of divorce as an easy option. But if not, then there's no problem. Now, if you were 20 and was 54, that's a different story. But at 30, you're a fully adult woman and capable of making sound decisions. I think 30 was my favorite year yet! Women are grounded at that age and confident in who they are and where they're going. At that age, the age differences between friends and partners no longer matters.

hi, as far as i'm concerned if two consenting adults want to be together than they should go for it no matter what anybody else thinks! I also feel that age has no real bearing because lets face it, none of us choose who we fall in love with and we certainly don't let age difference deter us so my answer is yes,of course a 30 year old woman can have a relationship with a 54 year old man!

I am almost like you, only my intended is 16 years older than I am. And I was worried already there, about the social issues it might cause. You are 20 years and then some YOUNGER. If I were you, I would keep my distance, and get to know more about him before I would or would not get involved.

Never underestimate the shattering experience of someone breaking your heart. God be with you dear.

Age is not a limitation on relationship - it is often more a state of mind. I don't see any reason why the age of either party matters, as long as they are over 18, who cares? And if they have a lot in common, it could be the start of something beautiful. I say go for it.

Why not?! If it feels right for you, go for it! Age is just a number at the end of the day and being happy is the most important thing in life. Good luck :o)

Yeah, by the time you're thirty, age gaps aren't really that creapy anymore - except the elderly, and 54 is not elderly.

Sure you can! If you have kids you can be sure they are really screwed up, having grandpa for a dad. I had dad that was 22 yrs older than mom, and it totally sucked. But by all means have a relationship that is destined to screw your kids over... If you are just bumping uglies, then have fun... who cares?

It is possible. Just make sure you have a whole lot in common. However, I feel more comfortable dating men within my own age range ( I happen to be of Generation X).
