Assuming that you have rechargable batteries, the charge time is dependent on your charger.

There are "quick charge" units that can do 2 AA's in an hour. Other units can take 8 or more hours.

The chargers also vary in how "full" they get the batteries. Check the specs on any charger you buy.

If they are alkaline..you CANNOT recharge them.

It depends on your batt charger...read the instrucions.

Ni-MH (Nickel-metal hydride) has a higher capacity (measured in miliamp Hours mAHs) and after an initial charge of about 24 hrs...'battery memory' does not occur.

Ni-CD (Nickel-Cadmium) smaller capacity and 'battery memory' can occur, but cheaper that Ni-MH
