whoever doesn't like this name is messed up. i love the name. and doesn't have to mean that the person has to have a russian background. just use the english pronouncation for that name. or have that name as the persons legal name just use the nickname everywhere u go. like i said i love the name, russian or not!

p.s. my ex has a french first name, but he is nnot french at all!

It's pretty you could call her Anna, or Stacy (stacia) Stacy Ann
Staci anna (Backwards) Anna Stasia
Aisatsanna (Annastasia spelled backwards) I've got this thing for taking names and trying to spell them backwards to see if they make a unique different name to say.

I think it is a beautiful name. It does not matter that the Duchess of Russia was named that. There are many names that Famous name in have the same names, like Mary, Rachel, Alexander, Henry, Richard, James, Albert, Victoria, and so on. that does not mean they are great names. I think that if you are betting a name that it should be meaningful and special reasons not if other people like it. Like my mother named me that after her best friend and her favorite aunt. My mother was named after her aunt that died as a child.

I agree, it's strongly associated with Russia. Gotta figure she'll go through life as Ann, Annie, Anna or Stacey......

It has it's charms but I like simpler names as a rule.

Pretty but long. Anna for short will be used instead so if that doesn't matter to you then go for it
