I'm between the two, more towards the atheist side. I have read the bible about 5 times cover to cover. I believe, eventhough I am not a regular churchgoer and I'm a semi-atheist, I have very strong morals and values chosen by me that I live my life by. Just because you don't believe in a God that's done nothing for you doesn't mean you're not good

This is said so much, it gets monotonous and mundane. Atheist have read the bible, I have read it many times, from front to back. I was a believer before, then I became a pagan then Jew and now atheist. If you read it you may find the same thing happens to you.

Stop being bad at what? I'm a dreadful dancer and can't drive a car, is that what you meant?

Believe me, if I thought reading the bible might improve either my dancing or my driving, I'd have the thing memorized by now.

If you haven't read one, yes, I would encourage you to read one, if only to know more about what the people around you believe. Just as one would read any book on history or mythology or philosophy. Knowledge is always a good thing.

If you're afraid that reading a Bible will somehow make you Christian or change your views on Deity, well, that's another issue.

Yes, the Bible has the words of eternal life!

A Chinese non-Christian spoke of the change He saw in a previously dangerous, violent criminal, hooked on opium. He said, "I have never heard the Gospel, but I have seen it and it is very good!"

Genuine Christian conversion produces a changed heart. Cleansed from sin and renewed, that heart begins to beat for God! Jesus called that radical change being "born again".

If you trust Christ you will know God! and that is just the start; you will know Him better as you go on and grow on.

The Bible says Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths!

Hope you seek Him and find Him. You will - if you seek Him with all your heart!

well, I'm not bad and I lean towards athiesm. I'm currently in the process of reading the Bible and so far I am apalled by how women are treated and what was considered ok. I have yet to find anything that can apply to my life, and trust me, I am looking...

Well, I've read it at least three times all the way through, and the NT many, many, many more times -- and each time I'm more amazed that people actually can't see the overt fallibility of it.

P.S. Your disguise would work better if you could find a way to make your questions more homophobic.

ya maybe you should, have something to beleive in in life you'll find it alot better. I used to be an aestheist till i realized how stupid it was. The beauty of the earth, the complexities of the universe and the human mind, the constant battle between good and evil, there has got to be a divine, superior force behind it all.

Reading the Bible won't make you a good person. There's more to it than that.

I am an atheist, and I would like to think I am a rather good person.

Why dont christians stop start wars and start to think for themselves instead of preaching and practicing an apocolyptic agenda?

Why dont christians stop trying to push their beliefs off on others?

Why dont christians stop hating everyone who is not a christian?
