Uh, ya they didn't have toilets until like 200 years ago. Well, the Romans had good plumbing. Maybe they did.

It was like Rome had just taken over in the last century from the Greeks, so Hellenism was still very prevalent, and merely absorbed into the Roman culture into which Jesus was born. Since Judaism had withstood the test of time, we know that was around then, too.

well let's see. the Roman Empire was spreading it's wings through it's army. Ships were made of wood. People tend flocks. More servants/slaves. Not much technology, but at least they had fire and stabbing weapons. They didn't have severe global warming.
