There really isn't a way to pretreat that I know of. But for my boys i use a watered down laundry detergent. I put the detergent into a spray bottle with just a little water. I then spray the spots and use a small brush to rub in the detergent. Then just simply wash the clothes as i normally would. It usually takes most stains right out

Buy a stock in shout... I so KNOW what you mean... when you find the answer... msg me! My daughter is SO bad about messing on all her clothes..

HOWEVER... to prevent permenent stains...
To prevent permanent stains on your child's clothing or pillowcase, your towels, and anything else she may have bled on, just soak the items in cold tap water and gently rub the spots until they disappear. Sometimes this requires soaking overnight. Once the soiled articles have gone through the wash and dry cycles, the stains will set and be much harder to remove.

ummm- good luck. I stopped buying white shirts for my son a long long time ago!! Stain stick works for some types of stains-along with tide and clorox 2.

If the shirts are pure cotton you can bleach them post stain but with they are like my kids white polo shirts regular bleach yellows them. I remember a trick from cleaning spit up stains from babies undershirts were to presoak them in really hot water with automatic dishwashing soap then run them through a regular cycle. I've done it with success with undershirts but not on polo shirts.

You might try scotch guard but other than that ZOUT works great on stains and now they have some shirts made to help repel stains.
