my friend jon has a girlfriend of two months. she calls him and they talk for about 2 minutes. then she tells him that she'll call him the next day, in which she doesnt. he gets paronoid and waits for her call. she calls like 4 or 5 days later. is it right for a guy to wait for a girl to call back or not?

Guy or girl, saying you'll call, and then not calling, is disrespectful. At the same time, waiting around passively for the girl to call him is down right wussy. 1 point off your friends guy card.
Tell him to get a touch of intestinal fortitude, (guts for the uninitiated), and just call her when he wants to talk to her. The good part is that at least she is giving him the opportunity to hang around, probably just waiting for him to step up to the plate and be a man instead of a boy.

the questioner seems confused here, the question starts out asking if it is ok for a girl to call la guy, but then later asks should his friend call the girl who is messing around with his friends time and emotions.
personaly though your friends should not be sat by the phone waiting. get on with his life, and have a messaging system pick up her calls then he should return the calls as and when he can or wants too. may be the gilr would get the message that playing games like that is just rude and not good manners.
or may be it is the girls way of saying she wants her space and does not want your friend to contact her as often.
he could alway just call her on the day she said she would call him then if he gets no answer may be she is either busy doing something or someone else.

Yes. I'm a firm believer that if women want equality they should meet men in the middle. I always found it very annoying when trying to pursue a woman because they would always make me do the chasing. Knowing they both call each other is good as it means they are both equal in the relationship.

i think the whole you have to wait so long after you get her number and stuff to call her is bull, i think you should just call when ever the **** you feel like calling (guy or girl), if he's worried so much why doesnt he just call her, its not that big of a deal, maybe she's tired of always having to call him, maybe she's trying to give him a hint that he's not taking very well

It's FINE to call guys...however, no one, girl or guy, should sit around waiting for the phone to ring...that's a waste of your life and comes across as a bit needy or desperate...not to mention making the person waiting miserable..

ehh everyone anticipates for " the call " a little. its okay for him to wait for a while but gosh, if she doesnt call within an hour, dont just sit there waiting! relax and forget about it. that way you can get excited right when (s)he calls. 8]

No it isn't, his girlfriend, is just plain rude and bad mannered.
If you say you will do something, then do it, don't let that person, hang around all day, waiting. It wastes his time and emotion, for no good reason.
She doensn't sound like a winner to me.
But it's up to your son, whether or not, he wants to put up with her bad manners.

It's not a matter of right or wrong. if they're together then it shouldn't really matter who initiates the contact. What matters is that communication takes place. Whether the guy or girl calls is irrelevant. What is relevant is that they talk.
