Seeing prophecies of another religions happen would simply be a test of your faith. If someone were to convert to a religion based on a prophecy which came true, it means their faith in their current belief would have been weak and fragile, and perhaps the other religion would suit them better. Of course, the same is true of atheists, perhaps especially atheists. Atheists would not very easily convert to Theism after a prophecy 'supposeldy' came true. It would be easier (or harder, depending on the person) to conver the Agnostic, who is unsure, or believes that nothing can be proven, (not Nihilism exactly, but kinda sorta).

The key word is "IF". If the rapture were to happen, I'll have been totally wrong and face the consequences of my decision for eternity.
Have you considered the consequences IF you are wrong and the Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Wiccan, or other of myriad faiths is correct?

No because it is an agenda that is supported by todays leaders. If it happens it will be because man made it. Not because it was written in a book.

They're just so generic that people have been using them as "proof" for hundreds and hundreds of years.

No. If we build a time machine, and go talk to Jesus, and he tell us that it was a lie, and there is no god, will you go atheist?
