The success of any decorating scheme depends on how well it suits all the members of your family. To create a décor that you will be happy with, think about what you want and also what you don’t want.
It’s a good idea to know what you have before you begun to change things. As you begin to pull your design ideas together, think about your preference and what will work in your home.
Color can work wonders... it can change the look of a room and change your feeling about the room. You can start by looking through magazines, and catalogs. Give yourself plenty of time, it will take longer than you think, and your ideas will develop as you go.
Gathering samples is a great way to begin. If you are starting with a color, your samples might include fabric, paint chips, wallpaper, carpet, wood, stone, and tile.
Knowing what you can spend on a project will give you a clearer idea of what you can achieve. If you’ll on a limited budget, mark off those things that will make the most difference, such as a new wall color and a new sofa.
You can set the mood of a room in lots of ways, such as lights, and furnishings. There are no hard or fast rules or must-do sequence for this process.

First off, you should paint your room a light refreshing color. Try a soft lavender, light green, cream or white. This will open up your room and make it appear larger. Next, choose a bed that doesn't have a foot board. This is a simple trick that will make a small room look bigger. Also, install shelving straight onto your wall to conserve floor space. Use the remaining room for a dresser, desk ect. Also, utilize the space under your bed for storage. You can buy storage containers that are made especially for that purpose.
Good Luck! I hope this helps!

Our bedroom is 12 X 10, We have a queen size bed with the nightstands on each side, & that's it. [headboard is on the 12 wall] The dresser & armoire went into another room, and served as a dressing room. All the rooms in this house are too small for a Queen size bed. If you have a full size bed set you might find that you could fit a few more pieces in it but not too much more! I hope this helps!

hmmm...though the space does sound small..there are ways to make it look more spacious..answering your question to the tee is tough...since u haven't really mentioned entry/exit points..'ll stil give it a try...
for starters...keep the furniture low height...itz a simple trick that makes the furniture less on the face!!
limit the colours to light and pastels preferably white...so the room doesnt look like itz caving in!!
provide for storage under the bed...also within niches and difficult corners....so that generally wasted spaces r utilised...
refrain from any sort of ornamentation etc. as it adds to clutter..maintain clean lines ar far as possible...
looks like i cud go on....but i'll stop at this..hope my answer helps you brighten up ur li'l room!! just go ahead...don't let the size bother you....!!!!n keep up the good work.;)

It can't be 3x2.4. That's only 6 square feet. Are theses measurements in feet or meters? If meters, get yourself a storage unit that fits under the bed. That way you can store a lots of extra items.

Have same problem.
Keep it simple. No garish colours.
Take advantage of the height to build highstorage.
If you have a lounge as well, consider getting a very tall bed and creating a walk-in wardobe underneath. --You just have to be careful when you're <>

Meters, maybe. Still small. Mine's 12'x12'. But i'm a little guy and don't take up much room. All my light stands and photo gear is another matter...

You can always get a fouton or daybed. Stackable storage is another option. When you can't spread out - spread up.
