I have a Pit and am in Alabama. come and get him. Send me a message. He is 4 years old. Why do you want a free one? If you can't afford to get one, why should I assume that you can care for one?
And to everyone else, you CAN ship dogs. Breeders do it all the time. It is called airline shipping. However, most people are not going to pay to ship their dog to someone. It isn't cheap.
On another note, there are pounds all over Alabama. Open your phone book and search for animal shelters, dog pounds humane societies, or even the dog warden. They can probably give you the local pounds number.

U can't ship any live animal it could kill them. Why don't you try ASPCA or www.petfinder.com
