Situps aren't useless, but they could have a
tendency to aggravate back problems.

Crunches are better.

Crunches are better. They are less stressful for you back/spine in the long run. Sit-ups are better for a quicker way to build up your abs. Crunches just take a little bit more time, but are more safe.

You can step up your workout a bit. Try using weights on your chest whilst doing sits up. You can put your legs in the air instead of on the ground to make it more intense. Crunches are great too, especially with the weights for a maximum workout. Good luck : )

It depends on what type of crunch and what type of sit-up. But if I were you I would do crunches. Good luck.

both are good to strengthen your ab/core muscles...but if youre trying to flatten your tummy, both are useless! theres no way to spot reduce so youre better off going for a jog.
