I don't see what's wrong with people wanting their own kind living in their own coutnry that was founded by their ancestors. Why are people against nationalism? Nationalism doesn't mean racism.

Nationalism, unfortunately, has spawned several wars and caused a lot of bloodshed. Particularly when two neighboring countries are also divided by religious beliefs, ethnic derivation or other divisive things. I love the US (I served in the US military for 34 years. If that doesn't prove it, nothing will) but I know that even the US is not perfect. Our government has made many mistakes, and made many decisions for all the wrong reasons. So, my nationalism is tempered by the fact that I am also a student of history and I know most (but not all) of the major failings of this country. I think what most thinking people are against is unthinking nationalism. The old "America, love it or leave it" attitude. That attitude is really stupid. Americans are given the right to disagree with the government, and say so.

Ok, for one thing unless your ancestor is George Washington or someone to that affect, this country was NOT founded by your ancestors... No matter who you are this country was stolen from Native Americans, therefore anyone who sets foot on american soil should be considered legal if they want to be. And just so you know most nationalities besides British were argued against during the early days of the US. Some jobs refused to hire Italians, Germans, Irish, or Jews or anything else.

If people were able to completely stay within their
own borders and didn't require resources from
outside of their borders, perhaps...

But in the real world, rivers ignore borders and
people feel the right to kill other people because
they look different.

Personally, I think that "patriotism" is nothing
more than another name for "nationalism" and
it is bad for the world as a whole.

I do not love the United States - I like the method
of government (although not the leaders today).
I like a lot of the people who I work with and live
near. However, I realize that given time and
exposure, I could like living and working with
people all over the world.

If I'm going to be dealing with people all over the
world (and with this economy, I will be), I might
as well learn to like and respect them.

If we re nationalist so now we have proper to place our nostril into your corporation among God and also you? God is not going to inquire from me if i used to be a nationalist in my existence after dying. And nobody have got to be a muslim to be a nationalist. A homosexual atheist christians character of any style of faith will also be nationalist. So why will we ought to restrict it with Muslims? Also as to Ataturk. His help for secularism isn't an explanation that he did not cared approximately his individual faith. I do not brain his faith predicament will have to i brain? for the two. It is tough to suppose. Because Sultans used to be the ruler of Islam. Islam wasn't the ruler of Sultan. Yet devout professionals had vigour to some degree. But the Sultan had excellent proper on anybodies existence. three Arabs em posed their tradition on islamic interpretations. Remember bloody islamization of Turks. Also there don't seem to be one usual of nationalist notion. Every frame will have to have targeted strategies. Do we'd like TSE certificates on nationalism? What if say i wish to have Atheist nationalism what ever it manner?

'Their own kind' I kinda have problems with.

Regarding nationalism, I have no problem with it at all. Neither do illegal immigrants, it is just that the nation they celebrate is not our own.

Globalists like to paint it as provincial along with religion, and anything else they want to feel above, themselves. I don't worry about it.

The problem is, their ancestors probably took the land from someone else before they founded a country on it...

you mean the native americans??? Most of the time it is not nationalism, it is that Americans think themselves superior to other countries and belittle their cultures and beliefs. It is OK in my book to love your country, as long as you realize that you are better than NO ONE! You are equal to them, but different .

Just look at Iraq they are all the same, but they still fight each other, because they have different tribal names, so it wouldn't matter if everyone was the same they would find something to fight about.
