Duh - even David Koresh has HIS followers. Today my husband & I were walking downtown and were approached by some Mormons talking about him. I've never HEARD of them getting in your face that way, but soon this car pulled up and talked to them. I heard part of the converstaion 'that's antoher Bible' or somthing to that effect, and the ppl in the car gave the guys some tracts and they guys left. Didn't want to talk to us anymore. Maybe becuase we KNOW the truth of the Bible?

If you really want to know about what Mormons believe I would suggest getting a copy of "The Book Of Mormon". This is the basis for all of the beliefs. Mormons not only believe in the Bible, but believe the Bible. Jesus Christ is the Center of their religion. The thing that makes them different is that they also believe in modern revelation. They will also tell you to not take their word for it, but to go to the source of all truth and ask GOD. If you ask with a sincere heart and real intent, really wanting to know, God will reveal it to you in a way that you will recognize.

One of the prophesies of Joseph Smith was that of the civil war four years before it happened.

when the mormons came to my house a few years ago, my Dad and I sat and talked top them. they said they believed in the Holy Bible, that theirs was and addition. But the stumper was that they said Jesus came back to earth to talk to Joseph Smith and tell him the things. But if they believe the Bible, then why didnt they see the part that said Jesus was only comming back one more time to end the world. surely this isnt the 1000 year Tribulation.
I cant help but discredit anything from the Mormon Bible. The Holy Bible is the only one for me.

Followers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) believe that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. They do not believe it to be a replacement for the Bible. It is belived to be an additional Testament to the bible (the bible is a collection of Books, not one book) LDS Missionaries do approach others to discuss thier belifes. I am suprised that "Christians" have such hatred to other christian groups that teach that there are other books that are not included in the bible that were written by prophets, after all the Dead Sea Scrolls were only recently discovered. and therefore are not in the Bible.

In his own time, Jesus Christ was considered a nut by many of the people who knew of him.... its a shame that 'Love thy Neighbour' has been thrown to the side.

False profits have been warned from Gods Word The Bible not to take
away or add to the bible but they keep on doing it anyway .Causing
the people who follow them to condemnation.
Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
There IS NO MORE PROPHECY Revelation is the END.
You can believe a FALSE PROPHET OR Gods Word.
Joh 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
The Choice is yours.

Yes, I would say you're correct. Mormons get nervous when they sense someone knows the truth. It's too bad they can't accept it. Joseph Smith was just another confused soul in a world full of human lemmings that will eventually lead people off a cliff to their ultimate destruction.

It's very simple actually, and for most people the hardest part of our religion is the integrity of Joseph Smith. He was a young man who had alot of questions about which religion to join. It was at a time in history where there were all sorts of religions and everyone was preaching that theirs was the correct and true religion and all others were false. He proceeded to read a scripture from the Bible that said if any of you lack wisdom let him ask of GOD and that's what he did. He went to a grove and knelt down and prayed to GOD asking for guidence on which church to join. He was told to join none of them. Here is a link that tells of his experience. I'm sure you've opened a can or worms here and will get many anti-Mormons sending you to false site with stuff on there that is meant to mislead and detract you from the truth I hope that you will keep that in mind as you read the answers posted and will at least take it to GOD and ask him for clarification.

By the way, we do use the Bible in our studies and rely heavily upon it's teachings, but we also include in our study the Book of Mormon which is another testiment of Jesus Christ.

3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
6 And whatsoever thing is good is just and true; wherefore, nothing that is good denieth the Christ, but acknowledgeth that he is.
7 And ye may know that he is, by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore I would exhort you that ye deny not the power of God; for he worketh by power, according to the faith of the children of men, the same today and tomorrow, and forever.

Joseph Smith was a former Catholic priest who went crazy and decided to start calling himself a prophet. The difference between him and biblical prophets is that J. Smith never prophesied ANYTHING. I have no idea how anyone could follow that.
