It's not 'normal' but common. There's several different kinds of intestinal worms. Take the dog to the vet where they can look at a stool sample under a microscope and identify the type of parasite it is and give you the proper medication and dosage. Do not treat it yourself with over the counter medication. Also discuss heartworm testing and medication with your vet. Heartworms ( the vet will draw a small amount of blood to test) live in the heart and other organs and can be fatal. Also, please note that long term infestation of the some types intestinal type of worms can cause severe problems ( anemia, bleeding ect) and even death. So call and take your dog to the veterinarian.

Yes, very common, especially for puppies, most puppies are born with worms. Just go to the vet (the pet store meds don't work as well even if they are cheaper go to the vet those are guaranteed to work). The vet will let you know what kind of worms your dog or puppy has and tell you what meds to give it and when. Just make sure you treat it when you're supposed to and hopefully they are treatable worms, most likely they will be, though.

Normally, yes. Take the dog to the vet or go to Wal-Mart and get a package of dewormer and mix it in with their food.
But DO NOT keep the dog in the house for about 24 hours because his poop will be runny and full of worms...live ones.
It is a good idea to go to the vet because he could have bad worms, depending on what kind they are.

pets can get many different types of worms. And some can be contract by humans. If you don't know the type of worm your dog has get him/her to a Vet ASAP! You'll need to ask the vet if it's a type that you can contract. If so get to a Doctor. They will put you on meds. If you have small children take them to the Doc. too. good luck.

It's not normal, but unfortunately it's common, and it could be deadly. Take your dog to the vet right away and have him/her check those worms to find out what kind they are so you can get the right medication. You need to keep up regular treatment too so your dog won't become infected again.

It is COMMON. All puppies need to be wormed, even if the mother was wormed prior to being bred. Dogs also get worms from doggie parks, shows, neighbor dogs, and fleas.
Just get a poop smaple to the vet and get the dog wormed!!

Normal meaning should a dog have worms? NO, these are parasites that are living off of your dog. They can be in the stomach, intestines, heart. Some form cysts in the lungs.
Do dog get worms and need to be routinely wormed? OH YES!
What you worm your dog with depends upon the age of a dog. Adult dogs can get whipworm and heartworm in addition to roundworm, hookworm and tapeworm.
So, not knowing the age of your dog, I can't advise you. But if you are seeing worms that look like spagetti - roundworm. If they look like maggots or you see yellowish rice-like droppings in your dog's bed- tapeworm. Hookworm are microscoptic. Whipworm and heartworm aren't visible in stools.
Symptom of hookworm & whipworm is weight loss and blood in stools.
Your vet can advise you on the care of your pet and parasite control.

They usually get worms from eating other dogs poop or getting bit by fleas. They are easy to get rid of once you identify the type of worm it is.
