There has to be a way to reward myself and husband for all these years of handing our money over to our children for their educations. How should we celebrate the pending final graduation?

use the money and place ads in the paper for "new college grad available" ads. then you'll really have em off your tab. find em a job and you'll really be set. go on vacation, treat yourself to a new car and maybe explore your other side a bit. you know you have one...

Treat yourselves to a cruise - somewhere you've always wanted to go. Then if you want something to do with the money after that you need to decide...(1) You could make contributions to an IRA and have interest defered by not cashing in until you reach 59 1/2.....OR.....(2) Invest money in a ROTH IRA (no tax savings, but you won't have to wait until you're 59 1/2 to withdraw it). Then as your grandchildren are born take the ROTH monies, and buy US Savings Bonds designated for Educational Use. Your local banking institution (customer service representative)should be able to give you the specifics on both and should have brochures for you to take home, read over, give them some thought, and determine what you'd like to do.

Go on the most luxurious cruise ship out there and just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!! Let everyone cater to you. Then, if you have money left over, take a course at the college that you have always wanted to take or even try. Or, buy a new house or car!!

When you were young before you had children was there something that you and your husband wanted to do but could not afford? Now is the time to rediscover life as a married couple. You also have the choice of charity. It can be very rewarding in itself giving to those in need. Maybe there is a young person in the neighborhood high school that deservies to go to collage but can not afford to. Its your money do what you want. Enjoy

Congratulations on getting all your children thru college! That is a great accomplishment. After patting yourselves on the back, have a bottle of "Johnny Walker Blue" and consider the cruise of cruises,... the "Alaskan Cruise". 7 days and nights, beautiful scenery, great food, calm waters, and cool weather this time of year. There is just so much to do on the ship as well as the ports you pull into. You will have fun, fun, fun!!!

Reward yourself and your husband with something you both enjoy. Book a holiday to another country and spend some time to refresh your minds as you immerse yourself in something different. You have done a great job in providing for all your children and deserve to get a recharge. After a good rest and holiday, starting planning for your life ahead.

Do you have savings for retirement? If not, then go onyour vacation, but set up a retirement fund and start contributing to that.

Other ideas...convert all those bedrooms to something else, like a home gym or home office.

Buy yourself the sports car you always wanted.

Buy a 2nd home in a place you love to vacation in.

Get something done to yourself, visit a spa and get a massage.

Take some classes yourself.

Have fun!!! Way to go!!!

so, how much money?...cause a trip down south for christmas (without kids!) never hurt anyone! or maybe a hobby...a yacht? water-skiing? golf at a posh club? You could buy a little waterfront lot for camping excursions, or maybe a camper! maybe you and your hubby could go on a road trip across...well, wherever. Art lessons? Buy an instrument? Go to Montreal for the jazzfest! or any amazing concert you'd love to see... I guess those are just things i want to do, but i have no money (ie-still in college without parents who can give me money!). Good luck! have a great time! (and if one of these things hits the spot, let me know!)

Go on a week or two long cruise. You really deserve it after all the books you've bought all the tuition you've paid.

You can also look into the Sandals resorts which you fly to them and its all inclusive, but what would be really mindblowing is to go to an overwater Tahetion (sorry its misspelled!) cabana. They have their own tv...a hole in the floor to watch the ocean life below your cabana.

Feel free to email me and I can give you more details and woo hoo for y'all!

I would say after a birth rate like that, you would have to have around 14 kids. When did you have time to study? Between college and having kids, I'm amazed you have any money left!

Congratulations!! That is so wonderful for you both. Treat yourselves to something you both really want to do. Maybe go somewhere that you've both wanted to visit and take an interesting form of transportation to get there -- like a train or a cruise ship. Good for you! I'm really happy for you both!
