Christians are people who are trying to be like Christ. Jesus, of course is the Christ, so if he's trying to be like the Christ... Hmm, that puts quite a new meaning to "Just be yourself."

Jesus was born as a Jew. Whether his religion changed when he found out he was the messiah is not for me to decide.

Sorry to disagree with a lot of people but Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus believed that he was the Son of God correct? The Old Testament vs the New Testament is (and I could be wrong here) where the difference in faith between Christians and Jews becomes apparent. There was no New Testament until Jesus was here, therefore, no Christianity until Jesus was here to tell people that he WAS the Son of God . Just my opinion, don't profess to know enough about the Jewish faith to make a solid statement on the differences in faith.

Jesus was a jew, since Jesus Christ had not been sacrified on the cross yet for our sins, their wasn't Christianity until after the sacrifice, and Jesus rose, and the Holy Spirit took place as our comforter to dwell inside us, making us the new tabernacle to house the Holy Spirit.

There are many Jews who are christians john s. I don't think that Jesus had to trust in himself for the free gift of eternal life. That wouldn't make sense.

No, since "Christian" is a term used to designate his followers. It was actually hurled as an insult and meant "Little Christ." The early Christians saw both the irony and appropriateness of the term and adopted it for themselves. Unfortunately, today the term has a lot of negative connotations since so many people who use it to label themselves could never be accused of being a "little Christ."

Jesus was a Jew. Jew in the Hebrew (yehudiy) means “of the tribe of Judah”.
Judah is only one tribe of Israel (Jacob). Jew in that century who follows the teachings of Moses, according to Muslim theology was a Muslim. Just as Moses was a Muslim, and his true followers would be.

The Gospel of John, chapter 5 verse 30 says,
John 5:30 "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."

A muslim is a person who submits his will to almighty God. Jesus says in this verse, ".......I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father ......"

I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father. If you translate into Arabic it means Islam. A person who follows Islam is called as a Muslim. So according to the bible Jesus Pbuh was a Muslim.

We should consider the fact not just the word. The fact is that Jesus preached to believe in one God. Jesus worshipped one True God. Jesus prayed to God( he even fell on his face and prostrated, bible - Matthew 26:39). Jesus preached ten commandments which are found in the teachings of Islam also. Jesus prohibited pork, wine, blood, dead meat or any food on which any name besides God has been taken. Jesus prohibited adultery, fornication. Jesus used to fast for more than a month, Muslims do fast too continously for 30 days in the month of Ramadan. Jesus practiced circumcision (bible - Luke 2:21), Jesus greeted by saying "peace be on you" (Luke 24:36) same as muslims greet i.e. Assalamoalikum means peace be on you, and last but not least, he prohibits Shirk i.e. Associating partners with God almighty (bible Mark 12:29). The teachings of Christianity was never taught by Jesus. Jesus never said that "he is God". Jesus never said that he came to die for the sins of the world. what Jesus preached,, i mentioned above..So all these teachings are part of Islam. So Jesus was a muslim.

Not only was he not Christian, he is going to be very upset when he finds out that the Christian faith has more roots in Rome than in Jerusalem.
