If you put a piece of food in the feezer that already has bacteria on it will frreezing it kill the bacteria or does it just prevent bacteria from growing? I am having a bit of a debate with a friend could you tell us what the answer is.

Thank you my friend here seems to think if you put something in the freezer with bactaria it comes out safe I told him he was wrong thanks for helping me!

It will freeze the bacteria not allowing it to spread/grow. It will not howver kill it, heat would, extreme heat.

If you put in a regular freezer I would say that the bacteria WILL survive.

It just stops the bacteria from growing any more.

well first of all, if your food has bacteria on it, you should just throw it away. especially if it is meat. meat can only be left out for 2 hours without being able to harm the ppl who eat it, and thats counting all the time it took to package and store, in ur car, and to ur home, not just the amount of time that your preparing it.

some bacteria will be killed, some won't.

however, the bacteria will grow much slower, or stop growing completely while frozen, if it does live.

Most bacteria need heat to grow.When you put it in the freezer,
it slows it down.But it still is active.

no bacteria will regenerate when it is unfrozen , don't believe me , eat it , an start praying to the porcelain God
