My sister in law had a baby 11 days ago. SIL is bipolar and seems really depressed for the last couple of days. She hit, pushed, and "strangled" my brother while he was holding the baby because she was mad at him. She says she's almost to her breaking point and that she wishes she was dead. I don't think she really means that, but with bipolar...it's hard to really know what she's thinking. I'm worried about all 3 of them. What should I do to help.

Contact her/ a psychiatrist or (at least) a GP. And tell them you're doing so in their interest.

My Aunt had bipolar disorder right after she had her daughter and still does. She's nuts, shaves her head and stuff like peeing in public places in front of people.

Get her to a doctor and make sure if you're close to her that she takes whatever medication she gets 'cause my aunt refuses to take it unless someone bothers her about it.

It can be scary to deal with, but it's better to take care of it soon before you have to call the cops.

Get her to see her doctor ASAP! If not, I would even get your brother to talk to her doctor and they can take it from there. If the doctor thinks she is a threat to herself or her baby they will call in help for her. Good luck!!

Don't let it go!!
