When I get in trouble its usually for back talking or having an attitude. so when that happens my mom takes away my contacts, coach purse, maxiglide hair straightener and all my brand name clothes (that leaves me with like 2 pants and like 1 shirt). She also says, "If you think your cute will see how much that changes now" it is sooo annoying! Is this right?

Absolutely.
You don't need anything except food, water, clothing (not name brand), and shelter to survive. Everything else is a luxury.
You should consider yourself very lucky to have a mom who even buys you these things. Some kids don't even have a home, let alone a mom who cares enough for them to buy expensive clothes or hair straighteners. Maybe you should appreciate and respect her a little more.

Sorry, I'm with your mom on this. Don't be a smartmouth and you won't have to do without your prized brand name possessions (though honestly, tearing me away from my Coach purses would drive me to tears). Now that you know what the results are if you are rude to your mother, change your behavior and she won't have to punish you. Your mom's a smart woman...she's doing this for your own good because let me tell you, there are far worse consequences for your actions when you're an adult.

1st off your mother is in the business of protecting you and teaching you a way of life. it sounds like she is worried that you might say the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong people. and in parenting classes they tell you take something away that will be missed, for bad behavior, it sounds like she took what you miss the most. be happy she don't slam you into the fridge or slap the daylights out of you. she is doing what is right by her and maybe you need to let up on the disrespectful language. and speak to her as you would your friends. she probably works hard to give you everything you want and then you disrespect her? what is it with younger people and their thinking that they have be violated because their parents want them to have it better than they did. sorry, but i doubt i will get best answer for this one.

Nah. my girlfriend got thrown down the steps, punched, kicked, pulled by the hair, and stabbed with forks from the time she was a child up until her teens-this happened if she misbehaved or not. So what u r experiencing is actually the correct form of punishment.

u're lucky that's all she does. my mom told me that back in her day, if u even looked at ur parents wrong, u got ur a** beat with a belt. back then it was called discipline, now it's called abuse. what would be really annoying would be for ur mom to make u work for all those nice things which she bought and by the way, they don't come cheap. i think u should spend a few days living with a homeless family then we'll see how annoying ur mom is.

No. It sounds like you need a good azz woopin to accompany that. My dad beat me with punches and kicks when I back talked, and there are a lot of other kids that grow up the same way. You should be happy your treated so well and stop your whining.

Like yeah she brought them so she can take them away. If I was your mother and you did those things you wouldn't have to worry about materials things you would have to worry about your physical appearance because your teeth would be gone and your a** would be a part of the wall. Your spoiled get a grip on reality.

Sounds like a pretty fair punishment to me, actually.
Since you don't have a job, all those 'things' are techically hers anyway. She has every right to take away 'things' she bought for you.
Her house, her rules. If you don't like it, too bad. Don't have have an attitude or talk back.

Your mom is right its hard to figure out how to disipline a teenager so she takes away things that mean something to you. Its her house and until you pull your own weight or move out you are required to follow those rules. Listen to your mom girl
