I think David Attenborough is a wonderful
reporter/documenter, but lets give credit where
credit is due - he is simply re-packaging theories
of Darwin, etc.

I continue to think that the theory of evolution does
not either affirm or deny the existence of God. It
does, however, deny certain stories that certain
religions like to tell and re-tell.

As far as I know, there is no reason why God
couldn't have created the system of evolution.

However, the idea that the planet is 6000 years
old and that we decended from two people how
had problems with a snake and an apple seems
less likely.

I continue to be a "militant agnostic": I don't
know and neither do you!

I just want to address some of you bible bashers out there saying that if it evolution were true we would see animals in different stages of this today. The purpose of evoloution is to become better suited to a changing environment. Those do not evolve die.

Let me just say now that the manuscripts were accounts of the disciples of jesus which were written hundreds of years after his death so how accurate they can possibly be is just laughable and to base your whole life around these books is a joke. I have a novel by Terry Pratchett which says the world is carried on the back of a huge turtle, that's a book is that also true?

Evoloution is the ONLY possible realistic way we have all come to be.

Evolution is a theory... Gravity happens to be a theory too. Do you believe in gravity?

Evolution isn't a belief system and to compare it to religion is unintelligent at best. Religions have been formed over time for lack of understanding. The more and more people understand about thier creation, the more their beliefs will lead them away from religion. However, just becuase you don't believe in religion doesn't mean that you don't have to be ignorant about sprituality. Bhuddist Monks have demonstrated the strength of spirituality within our physical realm. Demonstrations that cannot be explained in scientific ways. Look into some of thier practices sometime and you'll see that believing in a higher power isn't that far off of the athiests mindset.

Check out the scientific theory of quantum cohesion. When a person passes away, they lose 2-5 pounds inexplicably. This has happened with people who have had near death experiences and the weight came back when they came back. The theory is that the molecules of the soul congeal and are an actual scientific phenomenon. Could it be that the miracles of the Bible are also scientific and we just don't understand them yet?

What is your question?

I think you will find that David Attenborough plaigirsed Darwin's theory of evolution. And the most important word is theory. But if you read it in a book, it must be true.

i just hope that if mr. attenborough is dead that he finally seen his wrong.if he is alive i hope he does.anyway if we evolved [and the theory is
from monkeys] then we would not have monkeys
now.evolution takes thousands and sometimes millions of years. i do believe that certain species did evolve but not humans.personally i
feel that god realized that evolution took too long
so once all the other creatures that roamed earth before adam and eve he decided that he
had to create us himself. all creatures now that are something evolved eliminating what they were.monkeys still inhabit the earth so we did not evolve from them.this question can be answered in books.both sides can ask thousands of questions and get really good answers.if you want to see which is more credible get the king james version of the bible &
read the book of REVELATIONS.this is about things that have not happened and about things
that have and are happening now.wow!!! details
given thousands of years in advance.that sounds
pretty credible to me meaning that what is at the beginning must be credible also.
i hope this changes your view
thanx-a-million

EVOLUTION

The introduction to Genesis and to the whole Bible ascribes everything to the living God, creating, making, acting, moving, and speaking. There is no room for evolution without a flat denial of Divine revelation. One must be true the other false. All of God’s works are good, great, wondrous, and perfect.

Man starts from nothing. He begins in helplessness, ignorance, and inexperience. All his works, therefore, proceed on the principle of evolution. This principle is only seen in human affairs: from the hut to the palace; from the canoe to the ocean liner; from the spade to the plowshare to machines. But the birds build their nests today as at the beginning. There is growth and development within man, but no passing, change, or evolution out from one into another.

For this theory or fallacy of evolution to be true there would be evident stages of evolution today. You would be able to find species in many stages of evolution in nature right now. For this theory or fallacy of evolution to be true there would be no God. And that’s exactly what evolutionists believe and are trying prove. The evolutionist bases his or her conclusions on human assumptions and reasoning, instead of on the documentary evidence of the manuscripts.

We have evolved? Yes, but I feel we are still in our primitive stage and will evolve in the future to become more understanding and non violent people. When I see the violence and hate in people, we look worse that animals in the wild. evolution is all around us. I still believe in G-d but will not accept people telling me that evolution does not exist when I know that it is an inevitable truth. I will definitely look for this book, it sounds very interesting!

I think you better lay off television for the answers and get some kind of counseling. Leave me and my religion alone, and personally I think your theory of evolution stinks. I hope you and Dave can converse about it in hell.
