It makes absolutely no sense. Trying to prove the nonexistance of something outside the realm of our understanding through emperical evidence is extremely illogical. Not to mention, science is an evolution of finding things have already existed, point being that just because we THINK we've found something to be true, doesn't mean that we've found ALL that is true, nor that what we think we've found is correct. Time after time after time we hear of scientific theories changing and how we were wrong on this and that, so how can we be so sure that we have CORRECT information, let alone ALL the information (which will never happen unless a higher source reveals all to us).

If anything, the very fact that we cannot even understand our own surroundings to the slightest degree (we think we do, but really, we will keep learning things for eternity about our surroundings so long as man exists), should lead us to believe that a higher being/something does exist.

Many people have totally misread what I've written. You are arguing with me, saying that science shouldn't be used to try and prove the existance of God...Bingo! That's the whole point of this question, to find out why then, there ARE people who try and use science to disprove God's existance!

You don't know, so it has to be god (something else you don't know). Your argument is just as illogical as that you are trying to discredit.

The same things were said about:
lightning
earthquakes
rain

All were products of god until science figured it out.

1. I haven't actually seen anyone try to prove God does not exist through the use of science.

2. Science cannot prove God (or Gods) don't exist.

3. Science is very good at demonstrating events dictated in the Bible (Noah's Flood, for example) didn't/couldn't have occurred. But that does not demonstrate an absence of God(s).

4. The complexity of the universe, and our lack of knowledge about it, does not demonstrate the presence or absence of God. There was a time when no one was aware the world was round, that didn't make the world flat. When we finally realized the world was round, that does not mean God just made it so.

Yeah it all looks good on paper right. Unfortunatly somethings are faith based and not scientific. It has to do with the heart. It would be nice if what you said was possible but there is opposition in all things. While science does have it's downfalls there are many things good about it. It's up to the individual to seek out and find the answers to those deeper things. Science has it's place but it really shouldn't be used to prove whether there is a GOD or not. Gee, science or common sense which one to follow? tough, but I prefer to follow my heart, it hasn't led me wrong so far, and for some that's just not logical. It has to be black or white and in this world of greys that's just not possible.

BUT WE CAN UNDERSTAND OUR SURROUNDINGS AND WE ARE MAKING LEAPS AND BOUNDS IN THAT FIELD. THE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE FOR ANYONE WHO TAKES THE TIME TO READ AND LEARN. SCIENCE, QUITE THE CONTRARY TO YOUR QUESTION, WOULD ABSOLUTELY VALIDATE THE EXISTENCE OF A GOD, IF GIVEN SUFFICIENT EVIDENCE. SCIENCE DOES NOT SET OUT TO DISPROVE ANYTHING. SCIENTIST'S SIMPLY TAKE THE AVAILABLE INFORMATION AND PROCESS IT INTO A THEORY. YOU CAN TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT REMEBER THAT SCIENCE SERVES YOUR NEEDS EVERYDAY, WITH THE ELECTRICITY YOU USE, THE CAR YOU DRIVE AND THE DR WHO SAVES YOUR LIFE. YOU REJECT SCIENCE WHEN IT DOESN'T SUITE YOU. HERE'S A QUOTE FROM ONE OF THE MOST INTELLIGENT AND "LOGICAL" THINKING MEN INT HE WORLD. "So long as the universe had a beginning, we could suppose it had a creator. But if the universe is completely self-contained, having no boundary or edge, it would neither be created nor destroyed ... it would simply be. What place, then, for a creator?"

Science doesn't try to disprove God's existence.

Science observes the natural world, and attempts to give a good explanation for its observations. If the existence of God were the best explanation for a natural phenomena, and this were confirmed by related observations and experimentation, then there would be a scientific Theory of God's Action.

Mostly those disproofs are intended as counters to the nutters who try to prove the existence of god through science (or more properly, psuedo-science).

Oddly though, you start off correctly by pointing out that god and science have nothing to do with eachother, but then resort instead to an argument from ignorance to try to prove a higher being exists. Wierd.

EVOLUTION

The introduction to Genesis and to the whole Bible ascribes everything to the living God, creating, making, acting, moving, and speaking. There is no room for evolution without a flat denial of Divine revelation. One must be true the other false. All of God’s works are good, great, wondrous, and perfect.

Man starts from nothing. He begins in helplessness, ignorance, and inexperience. All his works, therefore, proceed on the principle of evolution. This principle is only seen in human affairs: from the hut to the palace; from the canoe to the ocean liner; from the spade to the plowshare to machines. But the birds build their nests today as at the beginning. There is growth and development within man, but no passing, change, or evolution out from one into another.

For this theory or fallacy of evolution to be true there would be evident stages of evolution today. You would be able to find species in many stages of evolution in nature right now. For this theory or fallacy of evolution to be true there would be no God. And that’s exactly what evolutionists believe and are trying prove. The evolutionist bases his or her conclusions on human assumptions and reasoning, instead of on the documentary evidence of the manuscripts.

They don't, people don't try to disprove God's existance through science it just happens that some scientific breakthroughs expose the Bible as being in error and this rattles Christians and makes them doubt their faith..as it should. The problem is with Christians who are in deep denial.

What are you talking about?

Science takes no position on god whatsoever, since "god" cannot be tested.

Your post demonstrates a horrible lack of understanding regarding the way that science works.

Do yourself a favor: learn what science is before you attempt to pass judgement about it. You won't look as uneducated as you do right now.

You know, I've always wondered when Christians will figure out that the real God would have to be the architect of truth and science and discovery, and that where the bible disagrees with truth, maybe, you know, the bible's actually lying about God.
