It's generally accepted that tolerance is good (especially since the Holocaust). The only problem is that human nature makes us more trusting of those that are similar to us. Basically, it's because it's easier said than done.

You simply have no comprehensive value of the what The Holy Bible teaches.

Your ignorant statement just proved that. Here we go. Turn the other cheek. hahahhahahaha

How many times does a Christian turn his cheek? You think 7x70 = 490. hahhahahahah ONE TIME my friend. That is it. Surprised? Yes, you are. Every atheist uses this for a defense, when in fact, that scripture alone will eat a atheist up.

There are several thing you don't understand. I see this now. If you really knew the Truth. i doubt you would be a atheist Pal. You simply have not heard Truth. I see this.

Love? tolerance? Yes. Thats 1/2 of what it teaches.

What is the other 1/2? You CAN'T know, or you would not have asked this :)

Read the WHOLE entire Truth. Not just what comes to your aid when in need.

Why do you say no relligion practices tolerance? Have you been involved in every religion in every church? We are supposed to be tolerant, but not ignorant. God says not to repay evil for evil. If someone wrongs you, don't turn around and do something just to get them back, that is what Jesus meant when he said turn the other cheek. And why would you disbelieve the Bible anyway? I accept your opinion but I would not be doing my job as a Christian if I didn't tell you that if you were to die today having never accepted Christ as your Saviour you will spend an eternity in Hell. You need to trust in Christ and what he did on Calvary and ask Him into your heart to save you and He will. From then one, you will know that you will have a home in Heaven forever more. May your eyes be opened to the truth!

The Bible teaches the ideals of living, but humans are human. I would suspect that it's quite upsetting to have one's religion questioned. Should they be able to turn the other cheek? Sure, but easier said than done.

And keep in mind that most of the questions from atheists on this site are downright disgusting or insulting. Frank, honest discussion is rare.

When someone disagrees with a Christian/Atheist, sometimes they may feel a little attacked. Basically being called a liar or wrong is not an easy pill to swallow. Their/anyones emotional reaction is to attack, the instincts part of the brain in high gear. The older one gets, the more adequately one is able to control that instinct and act with a reasonable response.
Basically, it usually has more to do with age.

I agree. The founding fathers under no circumstances had the objective of preserving own faith out of public existence. definite, they had to save to the authorities (Congress) from affirming a state faith, yet why is it that folk in the present day have a tendency to miss the 2d 0.5 of the clause? ("or prohibiting the free workout thereof;") almost each and every of the Founding Fathers were certainly religions; were in fact, Christians. This exhibits very obviously of their statements and writings. besides the undeniable fact that, there replaced into under no circumstances an attempt to make the U. S. a Christian us of a, because, as you've established, it replaced into presumed that it already replaced into.

My religion teaches tolerance. It practices it too.

Want to find a group of people who don't practice tolerance? Get a roomful of gays together, then take the podium and tell them that you don't dislike gay people but that you disapprove of homosexual behavior.

Trust me, you'll see how intolerant these "champions of tolerance" suddenly get. You'll get called every dirty name in the book, and worse.

Nah. I ain't like that. No time for that.

I DO think that people (including the huge majority of Christians out there) COMPLETELY misinterpret the Bible, but that's just me.
