While this has little or nothing to do with Muslims, I will still answer...
The French did experiments like this back in the Revolution days when they were lopping off heads of the aristocracy, and the scientists who observed the severed heads believed that this theory was true. However, it was likely just to be a reflex action of the last of the blood draining from the decapitated head. In fact decapitation is a sure-fire way to make sure someone is dead, as separating the head from the body stops either from existing as one could not live without the other. Hanging, another once widely used form of execution works by the same principle: severing the spinal cord so brain function ceases.
The only thing that can live without its head is the cockroach. It can live for up to week before starving to death.

Actually a severed head can "live" for a bit after it has been cut off. There are many tales from the middle ages of heads trying to talk and such after they were cut off in executions. It has nothing to do with "muslims" by the way .. they are just the big beheaders these days .. christians beheaded many many people and that is where most of these tales have come from.

When Muslims cutt heads off? I hate to break it to you but Muslims aren't the only ones that do that.
That said, The cutting of the head, if done in the correct way (i.e slashing/cutting the "life cord") it's the fastest and painless way of ending a person or animal's life.

Let's build a Guitiene..and see...muslim head chopping isn't a new thing...but others throughout history have been way more active in the task...In Islam...it controlled your desires to go out and commit serious and religious crimes....kings and queens.did it for entertainment of sorts
the main difference now is the muslim terrorists..do it slowly...with a dull knife

Race does not matter as a head is a head..When you cut off a chickens head its body still runs around..so yes the nerves take time to die..its not instant..As far as HUMAN heads go I dont know..call a coroner..or your local mafia..
