First of all it is spelled Catholics. Second of all why would anyone think such an absurd thing? Oh wait, I forgot- its that time of day again- its "bash christian time". You've had a bad day and the dog is tired of being kicked so head for the website and ask some stupid question insulting someones faith. No one really knows who you are so you are free to be as insulting as you please. Then if the christian shows any human emotion about the insult they are hypocrites. Wow, you are truly intelligent and a real credit to whatever your lack of faith is. By your picture it looks like you are Black. Oh should I insult your race? There are many who mug and steal and do all kinds of things. There are also people like Oprah Winfrey. How would you like it if I just grouped you with all the bad seeds of your race? They'd better not, because I'm Catholic (Anglo-Catholic) and I am a survivor of molestation myself (by my stepfather, NOT a priest).

So no, Catholics do not condone paedophilia. Don't oversimplify the issue just to garner a reaction out of people. Use your brains.

They don't. And it's pedophilia. It's just that if a priest molests a kid, his followers want to believe the best of him. It's the same concept as if you were married for 20 years only to have a girl come to your door and claim that he raped her. What would be your first reaction?
"Oh, come in you poor thing. Tell me all about it, so we can put my husband in prison."
Or "You crazy *****, get the hell out of here!" And then ask your husband and beleive him because you want to believe him?

It's similar because the "flock" as they call them, have a bond with the priest. They love him and respect him and want to believe that the child is lying and that he's not really a disgusting perv. They want to believe it and they do.
The Catholic Church as you probably know, isn't exactly the innocent organization it claims to be. They are in a business to "save souls" or make money. Whatever come first. It's not that they approve of pedophilia, but if it occurs, like every other horrible secret that comes along, it's immediately covered up. Or else it looks bad for them.
Some people argue that if priests were allowed to marry then that would make a difference. That's bull. Hell, if they were normal people, they wouldn't be raping boys, they'd be paying hookers. But that's off topic.
