Well, charcoal sure taste better but it is a pain in the a** and so time consuming to get it just right. So for lack of pulling all of my hair out, I have to go with gas. At least until the day I can afford my own private chef and then they can mess with the charcoal!

Gas is more convenient for everyday grilling... like after work when you really want a steak without all the fuss.

I enjoy taking our little charcoal grill to the beach or camping though. I love catching fresh fish, cleaning them, starting the fire, adding some mesquite wood for flavor... mmm! It feels like you've actually accomplished something and it's fun!

Charcoal gives a real sense of adventure. With gas, it's almost the same as cooking indoors. Why bother?
