My hair isn't dry or anything, it's actually kind of oily, but I just got an ion hair dryer and it seems to be worse. I thought the ion hair dryers were supposed to be better for your hair than the regular kind? What can I do to keep this from happening. I can't use conditioner because my hair is thin and it just weighs it down even more.

Too much heat breaks the hair. there are products out there that protects the hair from the heat of the dryer. Sometimes its best to allow the hair to dry naturally in order to give it a rest.

First off, the ion hair dryer is no better than any other kind, except that it may be more expensive. For a real solution to your problem, you need to consult a hair care professional. In most states, a hairdresser must attend formal classes, take a test and be certified by the state. So that's where to start. And if you're not satisfied with the first one, go to a different one. If, after visiting three of them you are still feeling dissatisfied, your goal may be an unreasonable one. These folks really do know hair and really should be able to help you find a satisfactory resolution to your particular problem.

You really answered your own question. Your hair is thin. Also, if your hair is colored or permed it is weaker and will break easier. I have an ion hair dryer and like how it dries it faster. I use the warm and low setting to minimize damage and fluff it with my hand while drying. When I can, I let my hair air dry outside. Blow dryers are very damaging to hair. A conditioner should really help you, try to find one that works.

U should let your hair dry out a little first before blow drying. It seems to break off more if you start blow drying when it's still very damp.

Try using Kenra Daily Provision. It's light leave-in conditioner that doesn't weigh anything. Good luck!
