The size of a family does not really mean they are in any particuliar fate - it just means they are a large family. There are some stereotypes that deal with large families and religion, however, which are sometimes true.

Catholics sometimes have lots of kids because, technically, the church is against the use of birthcontrol. This isn't as true anymore, but lots and lots of Catholic families used to be very large. My grandmother, for instance, was a Catholic and had six kids and thirteen miscarriages.

Mormonism also has the reputation of having large families because some wings of the religion believe in polygamy, which is when a man is married to more than one woman. Technically, US law and official Mormons don't allow this, but some people still practice it. Because there is one husband and sometimes as many as, say, six wives, the families tend to get very large.

Uhm ... while some religious groups tend to often have larger families, the size of a family does not imply the family is of any faith.
