That depends on who you ask. If you ask "Mr.T", he would say something like, "I pity da foo who tell me to ditch my gold cross an chain - foo!"

If you're asking me - I'd tell you, "I pity da foo who wear a big ol' blang blang thang to church." (AHEM!) Seriously though, while many obviously don't see it this way, its the same as Idol worship. Its putting their faith in an object that's supposed to represent Christ. Thats not faith. Faith is belief in the unseen - and in this case an object is nothing but an idol when fused with a diety or even a person of great importance as Christ.

FYI - While I do not believe Jesus was God himself (no way) I do believe as the scriptures say, that Christ is God by way of proxy. That may not make sense but its the best summation I can make.

Jesus was God's complete, expressed representative on earth - the only mediator between God and man. He spoke the words God give him, did the deeds God shown him - mirroring God in that respect - walking in the authority given him from above.

God by proxy, hence worshiping him is worshiping God "through" him. This understanding has resolved many confusions I had about his diety-like standing - without actually being diety.

By no means was Jesus just a common man, and yet, he was every bit human as the next guy, until the resurrection - still human but putting of a mortal body for an immortal one.

Dear Sho-Nuff,

The Bible tells us that at this particular time the Lord is no longer using the local churches to bring forth the Gospel of Jesus CHrist. The church age ended in 1988. If you will read 2 Thessalonians 2, you will find Scripture to show that the Holy Spirit has left the local congregations (churches) and no one can be saved without God! If you will also note that God has turned the rulership of the churches over to satan. Now satan can only be in one place at a time, however, satan's ministers are governing these assemblies. The churches now are the most dangerous place to be because there is absolutely NO possibility of salvation there!! (On a battlefield there is still the possibility of salvation). There is alot of Scripture in the Bible that shows that the church age is over and the true believers are to come out. Take a look at Matthew 24:15, 16 or Revelation 18:4 for a start. The gold cross is not sinful unless someone has attempted to make an image of Christ on it or if you begin to believe that it has some power. I hope this will help you.

The cross is such an ugly symbol. It is the reason why our God died. If he hadnt died so young, just imagine the miracles and wonders he could have performed. Dont get me wrong, i am thankful that he died, but the cross, to me, is not a beautiful symbol. It is sickening that so many people wear a miniature death machine on their necks. I just might start wearing a little gold electric chair around my neck, because many good people have died in one. That's just gross. But to ido, lize the contraption that Killed our Lord. I think it is wrong.

Some christian religions believe that the cross is a false idol --- worshipping the cross, not Christ. Others believe it is simply a symbol to remind us, but that it should simply be the cross without Jesus still on it (He came down, right). Still others believe in wearing the cross w/Christ as the reminder. I say, wear what you want as long as you know what you believe.

False idol. Wearing at all is wrong. According to the bible.

If Jesus had been killed twenty years ago, Catholic school children would be wearing little electric chairs around their necks instead of crosses.

To a True Christian a CROSS is quite OK.

Most True Christians do not like the Crucifix of the roman Cult.

We prefer to remember a Jesus who HAS RISEN rather than HIM as still suffering on a cross. (because HE HAS RISEN!)

your picture still kills me. Why would a gold cross worn at church be wrong? It beats me. I wear one with rubies. I never wear any other necklace. It is just my style.

I always wondered why Christians wear crosses. If someone killed your beloved with a knife would you wear a knife around your neck or a gun for that matter?
