I wondered the same thing. For god sake I saw this one girls the other day and I couldn't believe she actually went and picked it. She must be so much worse looking in real life....lol

The real question is why do people pick beautiful ones when there are so many ugly ones out there?? Some people don't give in to peer pressure I guess.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Other than that, perhaps some people feel a want to experiment with their avatars.

Not every body looks a like and people want to try and represent themselves as accurately as they can and I respect that... I wouldn't say that peoples avatars are ugly... we don't all fit the same mold. They are all perfect as they are.

maybe becuz they are ugly and dont want to mislead anyone. i htink that the avatars should be able to have different body types cuz i am a curvy women and my avatar looks like a stick figure!

Keep your mind open girl (if thats what you are). Not everyone is hot...or what society tells you is good looking. Did it ever come to mind that people actually make their avatars look like them...? I applaud people for not picking these hot avatars that look nothing like them so people like you can talk to them and think they're good looking.
Before I continue my rant...how old are you? 12?

I don't think it's possible for an avatar to be ugly. I could've made mine a lot hotter, but it wouldn't have looked anything like me. This one kinda does look like me actually. I wish you could see the whole thing. I'm pimping a polar bear in mine.

I chose ugly Uncle Fester because I hate vanity and pretention. No one would ever guess from my icon that I'm an incredibly handsome man with a full head of hair. ;-)
