Sin, what the heck are you talking about. Dont remember seeing smoking cigars in the bible a sin. The guy that drinks 3 mountain dews a day is a bigger sinner than an occasional cigar.

According to some fundamentalist Christian CULTS, anything enjoyable is a sin. However, the sins are written out very plainly in exodus. And none say smoking is a sin.

Smoking is not a sin. It says no where in the Bible that it is. It is legal. Smoke all you want. Now smoking weed is a different story because it is illegal and God tells us to follow the law. Cigars are fine though, buddy.

The Bible says that our body does not belong to us. Our body belongs to Jesus Christ because he paid for us with His blood by dying on Calvary. Also, the Bible says our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Once we are saved, the Holy Spirit takes up residence inside of us. Think of it this way. If you drove by one house and the yard was full of clutter, trash every where, beer bottles all over the place, etc. you would think that the person who lives there is not very tidy. If you see a yard that is nicely mowed, things put where they belong, plants taken care of and trees trimmed, you would think that the person who lives there cares about the yard and tries to take care of it. Our body is the same way. If we pollute it with drinking, smoking, tattooing, etc. what are we saying? We need to live and present ourselves in such a way that when someone looks at us, they know that there is something different about us. We are supposed to be different from the world because Jesus told us to be a light in the world. How can we stand out and shine to the lost world if we live like them?

Read these. The pope or religious leader will say its fine as long as you have faith and donate money!!!! and all that nonsense. These are great answers about how it is unscriptural and unhealthy.

The accurately translated greek scriptures and what-not does not say that our body is a temple for the holy spirit. The holy spirit is only gods active force, not an inactive force, and not an individual by itself. It is merely the power that god calls upon to do his will, whatever it may be. We can ask for a portion of gods holy spirit any time of the day we want, and it will help to strengthen and guide us in time of need. God is love, so wouldnt he show love in every way possible? including lending us some of his holy spirit whenever we ask for it?

It is important to use study guides when applying scriptures, not reading them literally as most church speakers do, and not only focusing on certain scriptures during their discourses.

A scripture says that God has a name for every star in the heavens. He can count the hairs on our head and keep track of them. He cares when a mere sparrow would die, or fall to the earth. Would he not care then, that his creations, Humans are damaging their bodies in unnatural ways? He does. It pains him to see these people believing that they know how to walk themselves in this world. That they know what would hurt god and what would not. That the majority do what they like because of selfish reasons, or to be popular and not left out. Smoking is a choice? yes it is. Does the bible not say to take care of your body? to refrain from blood? to not defile it? Doing these things is quoted as being "detestable to god". And those things they are practicing while claiming to be one of gods faithful followers is a blasphemer and will not inherit gods kingdom.

No. Smoking in general isn't a sin. The "sin" is disrespecting the body God gave you.

It depends on which sect of the death cult you belong to. Most of them don't consider moderate tobacco use a sin, and only consider regular tobacco use to be a venial sin anyway.
