What are the signes of a false pregnancy in a pug compared to a real one?

It can be very difficult to differentiate between a false pregnancy and a real one in dogs. This is becuase in a false pregnancy the female will eat more, gain weight, and may lactate.
If you know that your dog "tied", or mated, with another dog and she was in season, then she is probably pregnant. If she has not had access to a male dog and you know this for certain, then she is probably not pregnant.
You have two options, wait 56-72 days from the date of the first tie and if there are no puppies, it is a false pregnancy. Your other option is to take you dog to the vet and if she is far enough along, they can take an x-ray which will indicate how many puppies she is carrying. I think they can also do a blood test. Well my first determining factor is if I have bred the dog or not. If the female has not mated with a male; it is obviously a false pregnancy.
If you don't know if your dog has mated with another dog, shame on you.
In your case, either way, you need to see your vet. You may have puppies on the way or you have a dog with a health issue.

Nesting behavior
Mothering inanimate objects such as shoes
Milk in the teats
Swollen teats and abdomen
No labor....
With an actual pregnancy, she would go into labor.

Call your vet, they will know. Don't wait to long if its in labor and somethings not going right your dog could you know pass away.

your dogs nipples will become larger and she will produce milk she may mope around alot and cry alot
