Call them and get the forms and instructions. In these days, they will want good documentation.

The only way to correct a birth date is to take a copy of your birth certificate to the social security administration office.
They are also going to ask you for other forms of identification probably because of all the fraud that has been going on.

either of those will be helpful but you can also contact your local bureau of vital statistics and see what documentation you would need and they can tell you where to go to have it corrected. i am a female but my birth certificate said i was male until i was 20 yrs old and had it corrected.
