When I'm not in the mood to cook, I got to Wal Mart (or any other store that has it) and buy one of those roasted chickens. They make for a nice hot meal, they taste good, and they only cost $2-3. If I'm really hungry I'll even buy some macaroni or potato salad from the deli section. =)

Chicken patties on a bun are easy and delicious! Those rice or noodle packages are also cheap ($1) and are easy to make in the microwave for a side dish.

Tacos!!! I shop at ALDI and buy everything for Taco Night for my family for under a dollar per item: Grilled Turkey $.99, shredded lettuce, bagged cheese, sour cream, taco seasonings, taco shells, or buy the boxed taco kit which contains everything you needs except the meat... Quick and yummy and fun.

meal bars (like luna bars, balance bars, etc...) are cheap, quick, and require no preparation whatsoever. if you have access to a stove, then pasta is always a good cheap/fast alternative.
