I want to play my old version of quake on. How do I get the unlock code?

I set up an old computer so my grandkids could play quake. it is now asking for an unlock code. Since I can no longer contact the makers of Quake (ID) I need a way to unlock the code. Any of you gurus know of anything I can do?

rather difficult to fix if you don't have the box/disc cover for it. but, you can contact ID, by this url
