Looking for a decent VOIP that is NOT Vonage. Anyone use Skype as their regular home phone?

Ive looked over Skype's website and itrs ambigious. Can I use my own telephone with it? Use it as a regular home phone? Whats the cost please

I use my Skype mostly for chat since I got hooked up with voip.com. They give me more powerful features than w/ Skype and it's considered the same as my regular phone (ie--I get 911 with it and everything). They also seem to offer virtually any feature you can think of, unlike a lot of the other providers. I don't have to use a headset or special phone or anything, just the same phone I was using before I got voip.

My plan is $19.95/mo for unlimited calling anywhere in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. International calls are charged long distance rates, but their rates are so much cheaper than my old phone company! When you sign up with voip.com, they send you a free voip internet phone adapter. All you have to do is plug the adapter into your broadband modem or wireless router and then connect your regular phone to the adapter. I run a cable from the adapter to the main phone base of my regular multihandset phone and then distribute the other phones throughout the house.

we are in my view very pleased with our Vonage provider.
