Check out your local humane society. Don't bother with a certain breed, just hang out with some kittens for a bit and choose one based on personality.

A domesticated short hair (DSH) is your superb wager. the two female and male cats are large animals. Please circulate to a glance after or humane society and take a glance around. there are a number of homeless cats that would prefer to get an excellent homestead. Take it sluggish too as you look and ask questions in case you're uncertain. The kennel team would be extra effective than happy to respond to any questions or concerns you have got. you will see all kinds of hues and personalities. choose one with an excellent temperament and one which you think of could be an excellent puppy. make sure that the cat has been spayed or neutered too. If that's a kitten please get the cat fixed while that's time too. Vaccinations and parasite (trojan horse) drugs are given in the past the cats are positioned into the wide-unfold public kennel. Cats love human interest and thrive on it immensely. you may have a pal for existence. good success to you i'm hoping you locate a real advantageous cat.

If you get a cat as a kitten, you basically will shape exactly how it will act and feel to humans. If you lock it in a small room and rarely play with it, it will not be playful. If you play with it often, get it used to people, and give it plenty of space/food/water/litter, it will be sweet and affectionate. There is no "breed requirement."
I've had an adult cat as the same breed as my kitten who hated HATED being touched. But that kitten I bought who was the same breed as an the adult turned into an adult cat loving everyone. We called him a dog, because he'd sleep in my bed, he'd jump on everyone when they came in the door, ect.
You can buy an adult cat with the same affection, you just need to check out your local animal shelter and REALLY spend some time with an individual cat. See if its affectionate, see if it will let you pet him, see if it likes being picked up.
Also, spaying and neutering cats makes them much more mellow and affectionate, so do it.
(The breeds I've had were the British Short hair and the Siberian. Both super affectionate, both my babies. )

You can go an animal shelter and spend some time with a lot of different breeds of kittens to find one with a loving personality. But, if you have a maine coon rescue group near you, you should definitely get a maine coon. My cat is very affectionate and playful. He's huge (about 15 pounds and still growing) but he runs and slides all over the house like a kitten. He's gorgeous and fluffy. He follows me from room to room. He's so sweet and he has a tiny little meow like a kitten. It almost sounds like a chirp. Good luck with your search.

don't get stuck on any breed. You want a kitten that is old enough to show it's true personality. If you don't care about color or hair lenght, give them all a chance, and adopt the one that you heart falls in love with. Cats are not like dogs in that different breeds have different personality traits, they are so unique and individual, that there would be no defining them by breed.

Any cat/kitten that you adopt from the local pound is going to be loving. Somehow they know that you have "rescued" them.
Any cat can be taught to be loving. You just need to know how to treat them. You can't MAKE them sit on your lap, don't force a cat/kitten to do anything.
You will find that they will show a lot more love when They choose to do it.
Good Luck, and thank you for adopting :)

Siamese are very affectionate and talkative to their people. They will act more like dogs than cats, as they need to be with someone most of the time. If you are gone a lot and wont be there to play with it, though, get two or look at another breed.

Any cat will do. I prefer an indoor cat. That is what is common in my area. I don't care for a breed of a cat. Mostly a heinz 57 cat. Something like a mutt.

Go to any animal shelter and take a litttle time with the cats. Usually one of them will pick you. You will know which one. These matches are the best. If one doesn't pick you at the first shelter go to another. We have a shelter and I have seen it happen over and over. Sometimes the people just come along with the one who wants to adopt and find themselves going home with a cat that has chosen them.
