They have that law here in Michigan too. I would buckle up. My friends sister was in a crash on the freeways her head went through the window, but she was in the backseat and wasn't driving. So I would buckle up!

Yes this is the law know. Before the only thing that they could write you a ticket before charging you with not wearing your seatbelt , you would have to be charged with speeding or some other traffic violation in order to get a ticket. However, this changed within the last 2 years here in South Carolina and know it is the law to CLICK IT OR TICKET>

I live in Florida, and no this is not a new law. it has been a law here for a few years however near the new years they always have what is called click it or ticket, which means that they can pull you over just for not wearing a seat belt. usually they dont pull us over unless something else is wrong and then they get you for the no seat belt. I think that it is a good law and should be placed in every state.

Uh, yeah! I live in WA and it's been around for like ever! We have little signs all over saying "Click It or Ticket" and an annoying fine of $101 if we get caught~They try to make it a hassle making it that extra dollar :) But, hey, they're keeping us safe I guess!

Have a nice day!

It's always been the law where I live, but it doesn't stop people from driving or riding in their cars unrestrained. A day doesn't go by where I see unrestrained drivers and passengers, and even worse, kids jumping around unrestrained in the backseat, and even being held in the laps of mothers in the front seat whilst the mother is unrestrained. You can make something law all you want, but it won't stop people breaking it, and the people tht do break it, generally find out when they're hanging out of their car after going through the windscreen

In Massachusetts and Boston, it is a 300 dollar fine to not wear your safety-belt while the vehicle is in motion.

That is a law all throughout the country. I think that it's best this way, because it's better to be safe than sorry, right?
